HEART BEACON CYCLE SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS SYNCHRONIZATION
System of systems: collection of task-oriented, dedicated systems pooling resources, capabilities together to create a new, more complex system with more functionality, performance than simply the sum of constituent systems.

BLUE FORCE TRACKER
Systemic refers to something that is spread throughout, system-wide, affecting a group or system, such as a body, economy, market or society as a whole.
“May the heart of Earth flow to the heart of heaven through my heart and through all hearts together. May our hearts be the heart of every being in all the starry sky, May the heart of the heavens flow to the heart of the earth through my heart and
though all of our hearts together. And, may our hearts be the heart of every earthly creature”. Chichicastenango Guatemala from “Stargate 2012: Surfing the tides of the Milky Way as drawn from ancient Mayan prophecies.

H.A.N.D.S: The continuous adaptation of capabilities relevant to security – in short transformation - in order to meet the security challenges of the information age is well under way regarding the demands of the military. Based on the support of highly developed information technology to speed up the processes of influencing an adversary, new concepts result in the adaptation of military doctrine, organization, training, material, infrastructure, interagency interaction, leadership, personnel and facilities.
Efforts to achieve the adaptation are comprehensively described on numerous Internet websites such as those of the United States Joint Forces Command, the Allied Command Transformation and the German Bundeswehr. Core elements of the improvement of capabilities are the concepts of "Network Centric Warfare" in the United States of America, "Network Enabled Capabilities" in Great Britain or "Vernetzte Operationsführung" in Germany.
The key determinants of these network-based concepts are information sharing and collaboration: "Information-sharing and collaboration enhance the quality of information and shared situational awareness. Shared situational awareness enables collaboration and self-synchronization, and enhances sustainability and speed of command."
The widespread use of new Information Communication Technology is intended to enable better exploitation and faster dissemination of intelligence in support of military operations so that political and military decision-making is more authoritative and practical outcomes are more effective. The idea began moving forward from the experimental stage into practical application with "Operation Iraqi Freedom" led by the United States and the United Kingdom against the Saddam Hussein regime early in 2003.

Bitcoin and the blockchain function as a medium of exchange, a store of value, a unit of account. Bitcoin adds digital, cryptographic, distributed server functions to currencies. Because it functions simultaneously as a currency, an asset and a platform, Bitcoin is better described as a global cryptoCAP (currency, asset, platform) -- a synergistic form of "cryptocapital" to unleash the full economic power of the networked age. Bitcoin makes money PROGRAMMABLE. MONEY IS SIMPLY DATA - a simple way to measure and keep track of exchanges in value wealth accumulation. Bitcoin aggregates data in a distributed global ledger accessible to anyone, and software. First open platform for financial services. Color coins represent stocks, bonds, currencies, properties as E-assets.

Trans-Pacific Partnership is great for elites. Is it good for anyone else?by Timothy B. Lee on April 17, 2015
How the TPP empowers elites. The nature of trade agreements has shifted. They're no longer just about removing barriers to trade. They've become a mechanism for setting global economic rules more generally. This system for setting global rules has some serious defects. We expect the laws that govern our economic lives will be made in a transparent, representative, and accountable fashion. The TPP negotiation process is none of these — it's secretive, it's dominated by powerful insiders, and it provides little opportunity for public input. Attributed to CATO Institute

IRS Memo #1421: Taxpayers who receive virtual currency as payment for goods or services must, in computing gross income, include fair market value of the virtual currency, measured in U.S. dollars, as of the DATE that the virtual currency was received. The IRS treats mining Bitcoin differently than Bitcoin that is bought. Buying virtual currency is treated like PROPERTY, not CASH
Because Bitcoin is treated as PROPERTY, not as currency, owners track the price from WHEN bought until WHEN sold or spent. Since Bitcoin trades on numerous exchanges with no set price, investors may want to track purchases as to WHERE coins were acquired.

List-Based Publish/Subscribe
Broadcast-Based Publish/Subscribe
Publish-Subscribe is a messaging pattern where senders of messages, called publishers, do not program the messages to be sent directly to specific receivers, called subscribers. Instead, published messages are characterized into CLASSES, without knowledge of what, if any, subscribers there may be. Similarly, subscribers express INTEREST in one or more CLASSES, and only receive messages that are of INTEREST without knowledge of what, publishers there are. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Publish-subscribe_pattern

THE TERRA Trade Reference Currency involves global ledgers as does BITCOIN, CoinPrism, ETHEREUM. Net Centcri Warfare / Net Enabled Operations / Battlefield Digitization involves sync delta refresh [of ledgers] across a decentralized system of systems. Terra commodities are described by <Uniform_Resource_Name> <URN>.. Sync delta changes tracked during micro-cycles involve threshold differences updated in decision support applications displayed on appliqué overlays during macro-cycles corresponding to micro-economic / macro-economic reporting cycles. Geo-spatial temporal intensity deltas in ledger values are harmonized across time zones mediated by federation gateways then distributed, newscasted, beacon broadcasted across zones / domains. NIST RANDOMNESS BEACON broadcast full-entropy bit-strings in blocks of 512 bits every 60 seconds. Each value is time-stamped, signed, & includes hash of previous value to chain sequence of values together. This prevents all, even the source, from retroactively changing an output packet without being detected. The beacon keeps all output packets and makes them available online. First, the Beacon-generated numbers cannot be predicted before they are published. Second, the public, time-bound, authenticated nature of the Beacon proves true random numbers not known before a certain point in time. Third, this proof can be presented offline at any point in the future..

The term unicast is contrasted with the term broadcast which means transmitting the same data to all possible destinations. Another multi-destination distribution method, multicasting, sends data only to interested destinations by using special address assignments.
Unicast: private or unique resource requested.
Multicast supports larger audience serving content simultaneously to multiple users
SITUATION AWARENESS FILTERED BY ROLES

INTERNET / BLUE FORCE TRACKERBASICS: Unicast / Multicast & Workflow
“Supports huge fanout. With the only standardized reliable multicast protocol, Connext DDS can provide
updates to thousands of endpoints efficiently”
http://rti.com/whitepapers/RTI_Connext_WP.pdf
“The fundamental value driver is easy integration of applications into subsystems, of subsystems into systems, and of systems into larger SYSTEM OF SYSTEMS”
A workflow consists of an orchestrated, repeatable pattern of business activity enabled by the systematic organization of resources into processes that provide services, or process information. It can be depicted as a sequence of operations, declared as work of a person or GROUP, an organization of staff, or one or more simple or complex mechanisms. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Workflow

The most important equation in monetary economics, the equation of exchange: MV=PQ. The quantity of money (M) times the rate spent (V for velocity) equals the price of everything bought (P) times the amount bought (Q for quantity). In Bitcoin, M Money is on a predetermined path, converging to 21m bitcoins. In relation to the other variables, Bitcoin is fixed. V, P, & Q fluctuate

Terra The Trade Reference Currency, TRC "world currency". Proposed by Belgian economist and expert on monetary systems Bernard A. Lietaer in 2001, based on a similar proposal from the 1930s. The currency is meant to be based on a basket of the 9-12 most important commodities (according to their importance in world wide trade). Terra = reference unit defined as standardized basket of key internationally traded commodities & services. Thomas Edison floated this idea circa 1921
Example: 100 Terra =+ 1 barrel of oil+ 10 bushels of wheat+ 20 kg of copper+ 1/10 of ounce of gold
Namecoin, based on bitcoin code source: <ORG_ID_COIN>- send / receive namecoins, digital currency used to buy and sell domains register, configure and transfer domains. Users of namecoin software share a common list of all domain names in the distributed database. Attach values to names, transact Namecoins, links stocks, bonds, tickets, file signatures, LINK TO COMMODITIES by <URN>
Credit union: member-owned financial cooperative, democratically controlled, operated to promote thrift, Provide services supporting SUSTAINABLE international development on a local, community level.
TERRA Trade Reference Currency : complementary, publically issued, demurrage-charged, backed by inflation-resistant, standardized basket of dozen most important commodities, Operates synergetic ally with national currencies. Combine with NameCoin linked to Commodity basket by URN / Org_ID

DOMAINNAMES
Turing-complete programming language used to create "contracts" / encode arbitrary state transition functions
Ethereum State Transition Function Check if transaction is well-formed (right # of values), signature is valid, nonce matches & in sender's account. If not, return an error.
Calculate transaction fee as STARTGAS * GASPRICE, and determine sending address from the signature. Subtract fee from sender's account balance and increment the sender's nonce. If there is not enough balance to spend, return an error.
Initialize GAS = STARTGAS, take off a certain quantity of gas per byte to pay for bytes in transaction.
Transfer the transaction value from the sender's account to the receiving account. If the receiving account does not yet exist, create it. If the receiving account is a contract, run the contract's code either to completion or until the execution runs out of gas.
If value transfer failed because sender did not have enough money, or the code execution ran out of gas, revert all state changes except the payment of the fees, and add the fees to the miner's account. Else, refund fees for all remaining gas to the sender, and send the fees paid for gas consumed to the miner.
CURRENCIES
Ethereum Accounts:
State objects = "accounts"
Account has a 20-byte address
State transitions are direct transfers of value, information between accounts.
Ethereum account contains 4 fields:
(1) Nonce: counter used to make sure each transaction processed only once
(2) Account's current ether balance
(3) Account's contract code
(4) Account's storage
"Ether" used to pay transaction fees. Two types of accounts: externally owned accounts, controlled by private keys, and contract accounts, controlled by contract code. An externally owned account has no code, and one can send messages from an externally owned account by creating and signing a transaction; in a contract account, every time the contract account receives a message its code activates, allowing it to read / write to internal storage and send other messages or create contracts in turn.
MESSAGES "Messages" in Ethereum are somewhat similar to transactions in Bitcoin, but with three important differences. First, an Ethereum message can be created either by an external entity or a contract, whereas a Bitcoin transaction can only be created externally. Second, there is an explicit option for Ethereum messages to contain data. Finally, the recipient of an Ethereum message, if it is a contract account, has the option to return a response; this means that Ethereum messages also encompass the concept of functions.
TRANSACTION refers to the signed data package that stores a message to be sent from an externally owned account. Transactions contain the recipient of the message, a signature identifying the sender, the amount of ether and the data to send, as well as two values called STARTGAS and GASPRICE. To prevent exponential blowup and infinite loops in code, each transaction is required to set a limit to how many computational steps of code execution it can spawn, including both the initial message and any additional messages spawned during execution. STARTGAS is this limit, and GASPRICE is the fee to pay to the miner per computational step. If transaction execution "runs out of gas", all state changes revert - except for the payment of the fees, and if transaction execution halts with some gas remaining then the remaining portion of the fees is refunded to the sender. There is also a separate transaction type, and corresponding message type, for creating a contract; the address of a contract is calculated based on the hash of the account nonce and transaction data.
An important consequence of the message mechanism is the "first class citizen" property of Ethereum - the idea that contracts have equivalent powers to external accounts, including the ability to send message and create other contracts. This allows contracts to simultaneously serve many different roles: for example, one might have a member of a decentralized organization (a contract) be an escrow account (another contract) between an paranoid individual employing custom quantum-proof Lamport signatures (a third contract) and a co-signing entity which itself uses an account with five keys for security (a fourth contract). The strength of the Ethereum platform is that the decentralized organization and the escrow contract do not need to care about what kind of account each party to the contract is.

BANKING SYSTEM: state transition function distributing currency units function allow other contracts query for the balance of an address., Ethereum-based token systems acting as sub-currencies can potentially include another important feature that on-chain Bitcoin-based meta-currencies lack: the ability to pay transaction fees directly in that currency. The way this would be implemented is that the contract would maintain an ether balance with which it would refund ether used to pay fees to the sender, and it would refill this balance by collecting the internal currency units that it takes in fees and reselling them in a constant running auction. Users would thus need to "activate" their accounts with ether, but once the ether is there it would be reusable because the contract would refund it each time.Financial derivatives and Stable-Value Currencies: smart financial contracts require reference to an external price ticker; e.g., hedge against volatility of ether (or another cryptocurrency) with respect to the US dollar, requires contract to know what the value of ETH/USD is. Use a "data feed" contract maintained by a specific party (eg. NASDAQ) so that party has ability to update contract as needed providing an interface that allows other contracts to send a message to that contract and get back a response that provides price. HEDGING CONTRACT:
Wait for party A to input 1000 ether. Wait for party B to input 1000 ether. Record the USD value of 1000 ether, calculated by querying the data feed contract, in storage, say this is $x. After 30 days, allow A or B to "reactivate" the contract in order to send $x worth of ether (calculated by querying the data feed contract again to get the new price) to A and the rest to B.

Decentralized Autonomous Organization" virtual entity with members or shareholders which for example, with a 67% majority, have the right to spend the entity's funds and modify its code. Members collectively decide on how the organization allocates funds. DAO's funds could range from bounties, salaries or internal currency to reward work e.g., Time Banking. Replicates the legal code of a traditional company or nonprofit using cryptographic blockchain technology for enforcement. “Capitalist" model of a "decentralized autonomous corporation" (DAC) has dividend-receiving shareholders and tradable shares

Decentralized data feed in financial contracts for difference via a protocol called "SchellingCoin". SchellingCoin works as follows: N parties all put into the system the value of a given datum (e.g. the ETH/USD price), the values are sorted, and everyone between the 25th and 75th percentile gets one token as a reward. Everyone has the incentive to provide the answer that everyone else will provide, and the only value that a large number of players can realistically agree on is the obvious default: the truth. This creates a decentralized protocol that can theoretically provide any number of values, including the ETH/USD price, the temperature in Berlin or even the result of a particular hard computation.
Smart multi-signature escrow. Bitcoin multi-signature transaction contracts example: three out of five keys can spend funds. Ethereum allows for more granularity; for example, four out of five can spend everything, three out of five can spend up to 10% per day, and two out of five can spend up to 0.5% per day. Ethereum multi-signature is asynchronous - two parties can register their signatures on the blockchain at different times. The last signature will automatically send the transaction.
Cloud computing. EVM technology can also be used to create a verifiable computing environment, allowing users to ask others to carry out computations then optionally ask for proofs that computations at certain randomly selected checkpoints were done correctly. This allows for the creation of a cloud computing market where any user can participate with their desktop, laptop or specialized server, and spot-checking together with security deposits can be used to ensure that the system is trustworthy (i.e. nodes cannot profitably cheat).

Choucri and Clark (2012) simplified “four-layered model essential features of interest”: internet’s physical foundations; link, IP and transport layers encapsulate logical functions of an application; information is stored and transmitted through programs in the application layer; users make decisions and carry out actions with information in the content layer.
CONTENT LAYER: National Science Foundation NSF Named-Data Network a.k.a. Content Centric Networking CCN. Content <tags> routable by <type> precedence using Network Centric Warfare's DEFCON / INFOCON 5 layer model to facilitate M2M IeT Internet of Everything / Everywhere model where closer is of greater interest and closer is cheaper and faster combined with urgency of need criteria <flash>
LOGICAL LAYER: foundation for innovation where anyone can build on top of the Bitcoin protocol. Notably, the Bitcoin protocol contains the block chain, a transaction database shared by all nodes in the system. Based on the block chain, applications can be built on top and information flows can be reconstructed, as explained in the next section of the article.
IINFORMATION LAYER: Bitcoin exchanges offer services to non-miners to exchange between bitcoins and conventional currencies. Wallet and escrow services allow individuals to store bitcoins securely and conveniently. Payment processors provide integration services
USER LAYER: Bitcoin has attracted a wide range of users, from traders and speculators taking advantage of Bitcoin’s price volatility, individuals sending remittances, to consumers making real payments. On the other hand, criminals are attracted by Bitcoin’s pseudonymity to engage in illegal activities such as money laundering, terrorism financing, drug dealing, online gambling.

12 Ways to Measure Bitcoin Network's Health1. The Bitnodes Project Bitnodes estimates size of bitcoin networks by finding all reachable nodes in the network. The current methodology involves ending getaddr message recursively to find all the reachable nodes in the network starting from a set of seed nodes. It performs this polling every 24 hours and displays the results on a world heat map of countries, including rankings and version of bitcoin reference client.
2. Data Propagation Maintained by BitcoinStats, propagation evolution chart shows the 50th percentile of inv-messages received by peers (ie: the plot shows the time since a transaction or block enters the network until a majority of nodes has received and processed it).3. DNS Bootstrap Servers DNS seeds are used by most bitcoin clients to identify a set of nodes to connect to when starting. The seeds are run by volunteers using a multitude of mechanisms to ensure the returned seeds represent a good sample of nodes currently online. Except for bitseed.xf2.org, the seeds aim to return nodes that are currently online and reachable. Also provided by BitcoinStats, the chart shows results from regular bootstrap attempts using the seeds with the plot representing the average hourly connection success rate for each of the seeds. The closer to 100%, the better the seed is. An auxiliary chart with response time of DNS seeds to queries is also provided, which indicates the response times in milliseconds (ms) elapsed between sending the query and receiving a response.
4. Network Hashing Rate Pieter Wuille’s series of graphs display hashing difficulty & estimated number of terahashes per second (computation speed) that the network is performing for various time windows (1 terahash equals 1,000 gigahashes). Calculated by dividing maximum target by current target where target is a 256-bit number, difficulty measures how difficult it is to find a new block compared to the easiest it can ever be. Difficulty adjusts every 2,016 blocks (or two weeks) and to find a block, the SHA-256 hash of a block’s header must be < or equal to the current target for the block to be accepted by the network.
5. Hash Rate Distribution A table of solved block statistics lists all statistics that can be derived from the number of blocks a hash rate contributor has solved for the past week. Block attributions are either from primary sources or secondary sources such as coinbase signatures, or known generation addresses.

12 Ways to Measure Bitcoin Network's Health6. Selfish Mining Indicator Since the bitcoin protocol relies on miners following the rules laid out by the software, as soon as miners have found a block they need to announce it to the network. Selfish mining defies this rule, because certain miners, once they have found a block, can withhold it from the network and start working on their next block. Once they have a number in their hidden chain, they can release them to invalidate the blocks that the network thought were part of the main chain. The lower the probability that at least k (actual distribution) blocks will be found in the time represented by the first bucket, the more likely that miners are engaging in quick succession behavior under the Selfish Mining strategy. "One way to estimate the likelihood of such a strategy being implemented is to measure the distribution of the time between blocks against the expected distribution. The rate of creation of bitcoin blocks is determined by how quickly the first miner solves for a hash meeting the difficulty requirements of the protocol. Every attempt to meet this difficulty has a set probability of being correct. The probability is independent between hashes. As a result the rate at which blocks are generated should follow an exponential distribution."
7. Orphaned Blocks Orphaned blocks are valid blocks not part of the main bitcoin block chain. They can occur when two miners produce blocks at similar times or they can be caused by an attacker with enough hashing power attempting to reverse transactions. Initially accepted by the majority of the network, orphaned blocks are those that are rejected after proof of a longer block chain is received that doesn't include that particular block. Users see transactions as having one confirmation and then revert to zero confirmations if a longer blockchain was received that didn't include the transaction.
8. Double Spends Monitor Blockchain maintains a real-time monitor for double spends detected in the last 500,000 transactions utilizing a 10-minute cache. Alert users to potentially malicious transactions
9. Unconfirmed Transactions The Bitcoin Blockchain maintains a live updating list of new bitcoin transactions waiting to be included in a block. The monitor displays total number of unconfirmed transactions, including total fees and total size in kilobytes.
10. Average Transaction Confirmation Time average (mean) amount of time in minutes that it takes for a transaction to be accepted into a block. Reasonable estimates differ on the amount of time and confirmations for a transaction to be considered cleared and ‘good’, but that appropriate risk level would be associated with the transaction’s value.
12 Ways to Measure Bitcoin Network's Health11. Block Chain Total Size The block chain total size is important because of the storage space considerations as it grows as well as the time it takes for initial synchronization after installing the reference client for the first time. This measurement shows total size of all block headers and transactions not including database indexes.
12. Average Block Size Measured here in fractions of a megabyte, block size will become a heated debate once the bitcoin network approaches its current throughput limit of approximately seven transactions per second. Ultimately important for scalability, the stated block size limit will have to be increased, linked to another variable, or remain the same with more confirmations pushed off chain, each path having corresponding implications for system decentralization.

ARTCLE: Welcome to Bitcoin Island: Bitcoin is not a protocol of transfer, but a protocol of ownership. Coins never travel, but simply switch owners. You could argue this is a trivial observation – "how else could it work?!" – but thinking in terms of ownership and protocols for transfer of ownership is a surprisingly helpful way to think about how the system works. That’s because the 'protocol of ownership' insight means there is a whole other world of history, tradition and precedent to learn from: land. Observations: · In the end-state the quantity of bitcoin will be fixed, just like land· Bitcoin is not perfectly fungible & norr is land· Bitcoin is not 'consumed' through use it is transformed and transferred similar to land and dissimilar to many commodities, which are consumed (or at least degraded) through use

Buffalo teaches us that true prosperity comes when we are grateful for what we have and when we live in harmony and love with every body and being contained within the universe. Both Celtic and Native American hunters prayed to the deer to give them a good hunt, and in return promised to take no more than was essential for the survival of the tribe. This helps remind us that our spirit of gentleness and unconditional love should extend to all species, not only our own.
