GPE designs and fabricates

various types of shell & tube

heat exchangers for gas and

liquid applications, and our

solutions surpass other OEMs

in performance, maintenance,

and economy. For the process

design we have our own

licensed simulation software

(WINSIM) and for the thermal

design we use HTRI design

software.

Mechanical calculation is performed by licensed pVELITE. We have handled various

gases, liquid and mixed phase applications for the industries like chemical , petrochemical,

oil & gas, fertilizer and steel. We have built hundreds of custom designed heat exchangers

which have been supplied to leading national and international end users.

For very dirty gas where you

need cleaning frequently. We

have number of them for coke

oven gas where tar

and naphthalene

gets deposited in the

tube . We have also

executed AEL . NEN type.

Fixed Tube Sheet U- Tube Floating Head

Advantages • Least Cost • High Pressure• Mechanical cleaning of tubes• Shell side leakage is less.• Dirty gas can put in the tube

side.

• Good for very high pressure as the number of flanges goes down.

• .• Thermal expansion is possible.

• Most versatile• One of the tube sheet is free to

float means free expansion• Cleaning is possible from inside

and outside.• Good for dirty fluid.

Disadvantages • Outside tubes can not cleaned.• Mostly for clean services.• For large temperature

differential , expansion joint is required.

• Not for dirty gas• Can not be cleaned effectively.

• Most expensive

CLASSIFICATION BASED ON SERVICE

Both side process streams ( not utility)

One stream process fluid and the other is water or air.

One stream process fluid and other is steam or hot oil

One stream is a condensing vapourand the other stream is cooling water or air.

One stream is process fluid being condensed at sub-atmospheric temperature and the other is a boiling refrigerant or process stream.

One stream is a bottom stream from a distillation column and the other is steam or hot oil.
