Required items:

1. Echo Lube or equivalent white lithium grease

2. Two (2) 10mm wrenches

3. One (1) 4mm hex Head (Allen wrench)

Remove all blade nuts and bolts. Use one 10mm wrench to hold the bottom blade bolt. Use a second 10mm wrench to remove locknut on top of blade.

2. Remove locknut while holding bolt.

1. Place wrench on bolt and hold in place.

3. Remove bolt after removing locknut.

Remove all gearcase cover bolts and cover. Be careful not to damage cover gasket during removal.

Add 35-50 grams of Echo Lube or another white lithium grease to gear case. Gear case will be ½ to ¾ full of grease when all components are installed.

Drive Gear

Clean and mark one tooth of the drive gear with permanent marker or paint.

Lubricate and install upper blade gear. Line up timing mark on blade gear with mark on drive gear.

Lubricate both sides of upper blade-end, and install blade onto cam of upper gear

Grease both sides of these areas

Grease both sides of washer, and install washer onto shaft

Lubricate both sides of lower blade-end and install lower blade. Lubricate both sides of lower blade gear, then install

gear onto shaft. Line up timing marks as shown.

Install all gearcase bolts. Tighten bolts until snug, then torque all to 11-16 inch-pounds.

Replace gearcase cover gasket if damaged or torn, and install gearcase cover. Be careful not to damage gasket during assembly or gearcase may leak during operation.

Bottom Blade

WasherBlade Bolt

Always use NEW blade bolts and nuts when re-assembling cutting bar.

Install blade bolts and washers. Tighten bolts only until snug, then loosen ½ turn.

Use one 10mm wrench to hold the blade bolts. Use a second 10mm wrench to securely tighten locknut on top of blade.

Tighten locknut securely.

Blade bolt should be ½ turn out from previous step. Hold

blade bolt in this position.
