THE SIMMONS FOUNDATION
MISSION:Tohelppeoplehelpthemselvesbysupportingprogramsthatimproveeducation,develophealthylifestylesandpromoteeconomicandleadershipopportunities.
HISTORY:In1993,thegranddaughterofOlaandL.B.SimmonsestablishedTheSimmonsFoundationasatributetohergrandparents’lifelongcommitmenttoassistthoseinneed.TheSimmonsFoundationexpressesitsvaluesandresponsibilitytothecommunitybyfundingagenciesandorganizationsthatfulfilltheFoundation’sstatedmission.AlthoughtheFoundationdistributesgrantsinseveralcategories,itsprimaryinterestareasareeducation,healthandhumanservices.
Sinceitsinception,TheSimmonsFoundationhasfunded$7,398,118ingrants,predominatelyinHarrisandsurroundingcountiesinTexas.
