HEAVY RAINS RESULT IN SOME FLOOD DAMAGE

If you are on our email list (see above!) you received a bulletin from Jane Holloman

recently advising those with 3-story units and window wells to ensure the wells are free of

debris. This routine maintenance is the responsibility of each individual homeowner. While the recent torrential rains over such a short period of time were unusual, if window

wells aren’t kept clean and clear, flooding inside units can result with heavy downpours.

Unfortunately, there were a few units in the community who had this experience. Please

take a moment on a regular basis to check and clean your window wells.

Speaking of water, under Dekalb County’s “non-drought schedule”, outdoor water use is

allowed three days per week on assigned days using odd and even-numbered addresses:

Even-numbered may water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays

SOCIAL EVENTS

The Social Committee, spearheaded by Tony McLain, recently held it’s first of a

series of “Dine Arounds” on Thursday, September 10 th at Top Spice. This was a

terrific event and great fun was had by all. Stay tuned for details on the next DineAround and make plans to attend.

BOO! Our annual Halloween Party will take place on Saturday, October 31st,

and, your HOA will host an event where the children in the community can dress intheir costumes for a fun-filled evening. There will be pizza and beverages for

everyone at 7:00 p.m. in the center island, followed by the customary trick-or-

treating around the community. All residents wishing to provide candy/snacks

for our trick-or-treaters should leave their front porch lights on that evening,

and/or have a pumpkin lit on their front step! (Lights off mean you are not

available.) A flyer with Halloween details and additional social events will be in

your mailboxes soon – look for it!.

LANDSCAPING

If you are around our community on Wednesdays, you have noticed a new

landscaping crew tending our property. Neighborhood Lawn Care began working

with us on August 1st, and they are busy trimming/shaping shrubs, tidying up

flower beds, installing pine straw, and helping to keep our grounds well groomed.Fall plantings at the front gate will be visible soon – look for a burst of fall colors

and a change in “scenery”!

THE “3 P’S”: PRESSURE, PARKING AND POOP

As you have read in the Board’s annual report to the community, three items continue to dominate the complaints

received by your HOA Board on a regular basis. We are approaching a solution to the community-wide watercut-offs, but it won’t be a quick or easy fix, and we ask for your continued patience. Most importantly a

community-wide cut off MUST be approved by the HOA Board – please ensure you contact a Board member in

advance if there is a need for this action by sending an email to [email protected]. Secondly, and

beginning in October, community parking will be monitored by an external service provider and vehicles not

abiding by the covenants will be booted. Last but not least, pick up after your pet! Removal of canine andfeline fecal matter is the responsibility of the pet owner, as is keeping your pet leashed at ALL times. Please

consider the safety and enjoyment of everyone in the community with the “3 P’s” noted above.
