Met: 3/30/12 Update: Data is a critical determinant to the
type of PD that should be offered; the greatest professional development needs can be determined by an analysis of student results. Benchmark assessments can help teachers to determine teaching and re-teaching priorities. PD must be specific to the needs of teachers, and consistency with the PD that is offers has a greater impact. Staff must be continually supported as they deal with changes occurring in the building and follow through needs to be a priority.

Next meeting: 4/16/12 Update: To the current continuum, we
would like to possibly add Collaborative Team Teaching, and a Special Ed service between the 12:1:1 Special Class and 15:1 Prioritized Curriculum class. We are looking at the Resource program and how best to service these students to pass Regents and RCT exams. 12:1:1 students will need to earn credit due to the ruling that the IEP Diploma will no longer be available after June of 2013.

Next meeting: 4/23/12 Update: We are currently redesigning the
benchmark data analysis forms and revising the data meeting process. The form should be more user-friendly, visual and a true progress-monitoring tool. We envision data meetings that are less evaluative and more diagnostic. A database of aggregated data would allow us to compare student achievement results by skill or question type, and thereby inform our strategies for reteaching and options for PD.
Benchmark Four window: May 21st-June 1st for Regents classes; June 4th-12th for non-Reg.

NATIONAL DAY OF SILENCE
April 20, 2012
What is it?
• The National Day of Silence is a day of action in which students across the country vow to take a form of silence to call attention to the silencing effect of anti-Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered bullying and harassment in schools.
• The goal of the Day of Silence is to make schools safer for all students, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.
Our Role in National Day of Silence
• On Friday April 20th, students and staff will have the opportunity to show their support by:– Wearing rainbow ribbons which will be distributed
by Student Council members and GSA members during lunches on Thursday April 19th
– Wearing t-shirts which will be sold during the week of April 20th
– Taking a vow of silence; students who wish to remain silent for the day on April 20th will be given a card to wear which will let others know why they are not speaking for the day.

Next Meeting: 4/20/12 Update: On Track is investigating ways to
implement our mission statement and achieve our vision. We seek to strike a balance between what is required of students by the State and our desire to promote mastery of content and skills. We believe expanding the adoption list to other cohorts and providing specific training on mentoring techniques will build on student-student and teacher-student relationships. Organizing structured time for training and mentoring is our first task.
