Dear Henri. It was a pleasant surprise to get your letter. I only just get it – it was forwarded from London, from place to place. Congratulations on your 85th birthday. The date 19th November coincides with my recital in Los Angeles. I see on my schedule I see that on the 17th I have a recital in Baltimore. Next probably I will fly on the 18th, so I will regrettably miss your birthday party, but I will be seeing you on your birthday On the 23rd I will be playing in Stockton, California therefore I will stay in Los Angeles until that day. I don’t know yet at which Hotel I will be staying at. Indeed we have known each other so long – they will be much to talk about when we meet. I am now on a holiday at a beach resort in Thailand. Back in London 31st August. Do drop me a line, also let me have your telephone number.
