2. Comitatus: Germanic friendship structure that sought to create a body of companions,

reinforced loyalty.3. Wergild: a price set upon every life so it

would be known how much to pay to survivor’s after death (preventing a blood

feud).4. Philanthropy: the promotion of welfare

through generosity and selflessness.5. Purge: to rid, eliminate, alleviate, lessen.
