The Heritage Open Days are organised as part of the National Heritage Open Days and is sponsored by English Heritage. The aim of the event is to make available buildings and gardens not normally open to the public, either free of charge or where the admission charge is used for charitable purposes.

The opening times and a brief description are set out throughout this publication. Other buildings will be open in the surrounding districts and further information can be obtained about these from the national website www.heritageopendays.org

It is organised by local people who dedicate their spare time to opening properties and staging activities, and it is their knowledge and enthusiasm that makes Heritage Open Days happen.” www.heritageopendays.org.uk
