Heritage Open Days are an annual national celebration of England’s fantastic architecture, culture and history, offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.

Beeston and District Civic Society continues to organise the local programme of events annually in South Broxtowe, supported by other local amenity societies and organisations.

Be aware there are tram workings in and around Beeston & Chilwell. Please check the website:- www.thetram.net/local-work-updates/beeston/

For parking in central Beeston see website:- www.broxtowe.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=962 Some on-street parking - (check time limits) 3-hour free parking at Tesco, Station Road and Sainsbury’s, off Wollaton Road, behind the Cricketers Pub.

Beeston and District Civic Society was founded in 1973 to promote a sense of civic pride and place in Beeston. Forty years later, it continues to care for Beeston’s past, present and future by helping to preserve what is worthwhile and encouraging good design. The Society has been instrumental in securing conservation areas, saving noteworthy buildings from demolition and, more recently, has been involved with the research and installation of blue plaques to commemorate worthy citizens.

Whilst ensuring that the interior has been completely renovated and attractively restyled and complete with all the latest features, the Club has been careful to retain and to renovate the building’s facade, for many, a well-loved feature of the street-scene. in particular, the magnificent bay window which dominated the front on the first floor with its stained glass which will be remembered as a feature of the ballroom, has been retained to form an attractive setting to the front of the lounge.OPENiNG TiMESThursday: 12 noon - 2pm Friday: 12 noon - 2pm Saturday: 12 noon - 2pm Sunday: 12 noon - 2pm
