This event was held at Multipurpose Hall of Tun Syed Nasir Residential College under the organization of Red Crescent Society of UKM Detachment 88W. There were two activities held under this event: a)First Aid Campaign b)Blood Donation Campaign Each campaign has their objectives.

Objectives of Blood Donation Campaign: a.To encourage the residents of Tun Syed Nasir Residential College to donate their blood on a voluntary unpaid basis. b.To generate awareness on the importance of Blood Donation.

Objectives of First Aid Campaign a.To promote the first aid knowledge to the residents of Tun Syed Nasir Residential College. b.To emphasize on the importance of the basic knowledge of first aid.

This program involved all members of Red Crescent Society of UKM Detachment 88W and other students of different racial groups. Prof. Madya Dr. Ruzita binti Abd Talib was invited to the opening ceremony to launch the program. I was the multimedia committee member of this program. I was required to produce the multimedia opening video for the Opening Ceremony of this program.

What I have learnt from the making of the opening video : a.The important components of the video b.The correct arrangement of content of the video c.The use of suitable music for different parts of the video d.How to make the video more attractive This was my first try at making the formal opening video for a program. Hence, I was really benefited from learning this video making technique which will be a big help for me in the future.

Blood Donation on 23 rd November 2013 I arrived early in the morning for the set up of the PA system of the multipurpose hall. During my morning duty shift, I helped the blood donors to register and guided them to fill in the form. Besides that, I also helped to print out the certificate for blood donors.

First Aid Campaign on 24 th November 2013 I gave my full commitment by attending the whole session from 8.30 am to 5.00pm. Activities carried out : a.First Aid Talk b.First Aid Simulation c.Practical session d.Basic First Aid Quiz

a. All activities were carried out in groups. Hence, I was able to interact to group members comprising of different races. b. This was my first chance to learn the basic first aid properly. c. In my opinion, it is very important for us to learn the basic first aid techniques. d. This is essential during emergency cases which will occur all around us. What I have learnt from First Aid Campaign:

e.The simulations gave me the sense of what I should do when I come across a accident victim. f.I learnt about the effective first aid for wound dressings. g.In addition, I also learnt how to use the triangular bandage for different injured conditions. For examples: Tying a reef knot Arm sling Elevation sling Broad-fold and Narrow-fold bandage

Conclusion I was able to apply information management and lifelong learning by participating in this program. I applied the information management during the production of the multimedia video for the opening ceremony of the program. Besides that, I felt thankful to the seniors who guided me how to produce a video. Lastly, I was benefited from the first aid campaign. With the basic first aid knowledge, I was able to contribute to the civil society as first aid is a life saving skill.
