The unique chipping geometry and optimized cutting speed produces thin and square shaped chips, ideal for modern cooking and/or refining process. Horizontal log infeed through a large horizontal spout with controlled conveyor speed keeps the logs stable and correctly oriented during the entire chipping process. This minimizes the production of oversize chips, thus producing uniform chip sizes. The discharge section allows the chips to gently discharge from the side, without mechanical impacts, which minimizes the production of pins and fines. The direction of chip discharge can be suited to different layout arrangements. The large hatch and integrated tools for knife change allows for easy and ergonomic maintenance. High chip quality at high capacity

Chipper infeed with a horizontal chain or beltconveyor ensures controlled infeed speed andcorrect log orientation under all circumstances.The geometry of the infeed spout permitssimultaneous chipping of several logs along theentire width of the bed knife, which is a require-ment for producing high quality chips at highcapacity levels.

The logs are very stable during chipping, whichcontributes to consistently uniform chip sizedistribution and a very low percentage of oversizechips under all operating conditions.

The number of knives and cutting speed are opti-mized. This, in combination with the gentle sidedischarge, results in minimal production of pinsand fines.

Quality chips for quality pulping

The infeed and chipping geometry of the HHQ-Chipper™ results in thin and square chips, whichare optimal for cooking or refining processes.

Thin and uniform chips with a high amount ofaccepts result in high raw material yield andexcellent pulp strength.

For mechanical pulping, thin chips require lessenergy for the refining process at a given pulpfreeness.

Flexibility with modular design

The HHQ-Chipper™ is designed with flexibility in mind.You can install or change the chipping parameters tosuit the requirements of your pulping process. The mainfeatures of the modular design are:

Chipper geometry:• A unique system for fast chip length adjustment• Different disc speed / chipper knife combinations for

various process needs

Knife systems:• HQ-Plus™ knife system with service agreement• Face mounted knives• Insert knives

Drive alternatives:• Four motors with one gear reducer• One synchronous motor• One or two squirrel cage motors with gear reducer

Outstanding runnability - high availability

Your operators will appreciate the horizontal feed. Theunique infeed system design evens out the wood flowto the chipper which, together with a large infeedopening, cuts unscheduled downtime to a minimum.

Chipping across the entire width of the bed knifereduces localized wear of both the bed knife and thechipper knives, thus giving longer service intervals.

The design of the chip slot eliminates jams andshortens the time required for knife changes.

Durable and easy to maintain

A large, ergonomically designed access hatch allowsfor simple and quick knife changes.

Well-planned maintenance methods and integratedtools enable easy adjustment and change of the bedknife.

All areas of the chipper in contact with wood areprotected by replaceable wear surfaces, reducingmaintenance downtime.

All service points at the infeed section are very easyto access.

Chip quality improvements through single log layer chipping.

HHQ-Chipper™

HQ-Plus™ is a knife system and a full chipper serviceconcept. The knife system includes a lightweight, regrindableknife and the QuickClamp system, allowing rapid knifechange, thus increasing productivity.

The service agreement includes all consumption parts of thechipper, guaranteed in-stock spare parts and continuousservice for your chipper as a whole, ensuring high chip qualityand reliable performance of the chipper at all times.

The HHQ-Chipper™ is available with either a one, two or four motordrive. Multi-motor operation reduces the total installed power andalso the cost for a spare motor.
