As a young woman, she worked in a hosiery factory. Helen later met a handsome young man named John Brazuk. They married and had three wonderful children. Helen and John celebrated almost 60 years of marriage. In addition to spending time with her family, Helen enjoyed playing pinochle, shopping, and going out to lunch with her friends. She belonged to the Lioness Club and the VFW. Helen was also an active member and volunteer at her church, St. Philip Neri. Throughout her life, Helen spoke fluent Polish. Helen recently celebrated her 96th birthday on March 31st. Best wishes from all of us, Helen! She has more than 20 years of experience in long-term care and activities. At the age of seven, Dawn volunteered at a nursing home where her mother worked. At sixteen, she was officially hired as an activity aide. Dawn later worked in a personal care facility as an Assistant Activity Director, Dementia Unit Activity Director, and Director of Activities. She is an active member of the Bux-Mont Activity Professionals Group. Dawn was born and raised in Hilltown, PA. She is a member of Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Church, and she resides in Sellersville with her husband, David.

Let the Good Times Roll!Some residents of the Laurels

recently got together at a localbowling alley to strike it up withthe gang. The “Laurels League”proved that bowling was rightup their alley. Several membersbowled spares and strikes tofinish off a perfect game, onepin at a time.

Pet TherapyLori Palnik and her son

Jonathan brought in theirbeautiful dog Cheyenne to theLaurels for a recent pet therapyvisit. The residents and staffgreatly enjoyed spending timewith all of them!

We are encouraging staff,families, and friends to bringyour pet in for Pet Therapy.Many of the residents in thecommunity love animals; theybring a smile to everyone’s face.Please make sure that your pet isup-to-date with vaccines and hasa good temperament to bearound our residents. We arecurrently updating our pettherapy information and wouldappreciate pet owners providingActivities with a copy for ourrecords.

Volunteer Appreciation

Volunteers Carol and Marie recently hosted a party forour residents after their sing along. They serveddelicious homemade tea sandwiches and petite fours.Thank you to every one of our volunteers who go aboveand beyond!

April 10th-16th is National Volunteer Week. Ourcampus is honored to have so many amazing volunteerswho come and share their time, talents, and kindness withour residents. Bethel Baptist, St. Agnes, Living Faith, and St.Peter’s provide regularly scheduled spiritual services. PeaceValley Volunteers, Canines for Christ, Brittney, Donna,Penny, Kerry & Kids, Carol and Marie, Pat Sobrinski, HappyRangers, The Impossibles, and Cheryl and her piano-playing son, Brian, are just a few of our many wonderfulvolunteers. Thank you all so very much for your dedicationand service.
