Notes from the PTO
We are sad to announce that this years Brews and Bites event will be postponed until Fall 2022. If you have ordered tick-ets, you will be receiving an email short-
ly to follow up. The PTO is hard at work planning the Fall Festival and several Parent Night Out opportunities that will happen throughout the Fall in lieu of Brews and Bites. More information on these events will be released in the newsletter shortly, so keep an eye out.
A Tenet of Maria Montessori’s philosophy was that children should be engaged in big work that gives them responsibility.
Each child in our school is responsi-ble for helping to keep their class-rooms clean, to do tasks teachers or other adults may need help with, and for maintaining their own spaces. With great freedom comes
great responsibility.
We suggest that responsibility for helping and maintaining the envi-ronment should also extend to the
home. We encourage everyone to involve children in household tasks like helping with preparing meals, cleaning up after themselves and
pets, and helping out in whatever way works for your family.
These activities will help instill a sense of pride in work and a feeling that together we can make our world a better place.
Sincerely, Mr. Eric Perez

(They don't). We also are reading the novel “Frindle” as a class. I hope to see you at Montessori through my eyes. Montessori through

Primary Program
Pine Nut Classroom
Please remember to send silver-ware to school with your child each day!
Candelaria Classroom
Our annual Jog-A-Thon is a fun and fit activity for primary through 8th grade students. This is an adoles-cent program fundraising event
with the majority of the funds going toward playground improvement and equipment. Previous years have helped to make our play-grounds what they are today.
We hope that each family will participate in the Jog-A-Thon to the best of their ability. If each student earns $50, we will double our
goal! We are hoping to make this Jog-A-Thon more successful than years past. The more contributions you and your family raise, the clos-er we will be to achieving our goal.
Your child should come home with a pledge sheet. If you need an-other sheet, you can print one here.
Challenge Island STEAM Camp available on the HDMS campus this fall break. Please see their website for details.

Leveled Readers
If anyone has any books that look like this on the back, they are part of leveled sets that we use for instruction. We would really appreci-ate it if they were returned to school. Thank you!
Lily C. Madison D. and Dakotah N play "Grammar Sense" with Sofia V. (not pic-
tured. This is a game where the children select a word and then determine what part of speech it would be and then make silly sentences.
What a fun way to practice grammar!
