® VitraPOR is the trade name for a complete series of glass filter products, equipped with filter elements.

ROBU products conform to the internationally established type of borosilicate glass 3.3 according to DIN ISO 3585 and English, American and French standards. Highest possible chemical resistance, minimum thermal expansion as well as high thermal shock resistance are the characteristic features of ROBU glass filter products. Due to these optimal physical and chemical properties, ROBU filters are suited for use in preparative and analytical procedures in the chemical, biotechnical, pharmaceutical and laboratory field.

®VitraPOR ist der Handelsname für eine eingeführte Serie von Glasfilter-Geräten, ausgerüstet mit Filterelementen.

ROBU-Produkte entsprechen dem international festgelegten Typ des Boro- silicatglases 3.3 der DIN ISO Norm 3585, sowie den englischen, amerikanischen und französischen Normen. Glasfilter-Geräte der Firma ROBU zeichnen sich durch höchstmögliche chemische Resistenz, minimale Wärmedehnung sowie hohe Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit aus. SICHERHEITSHINWEISEReinigung

Vor Erstbenutzung sollten die Glasgeräte mit warmer, verdünnter ( 10%) Salzsäure und ~anschließendem, gründlichen Spülen mit destilliertem Wasser gereinigt werden, um Staub und lose Partikel zu beseitigen. Nach Gebrauch empfiehlt sich eine sofortige Reinigung mit einem Gummiwischer oder kräftigen Pinsel. Oft genügt ein Abspritzen der Oberfläche mit der Spritzflasche oder Durchspülen unter dem Wasserstrahl.

Druck- / Vakuumbeständigkeit

Bereits kleine Verletzungen der Glasoberfläche, z.B. durch Kratzer, führen zu einem Verlust der Druck- bzw. Vakuum- festigkeit. Ein Verstopfen der Poren kann einen plötzlichen Druckanstieg verursachen. Auf

2keinen Fall dürfen etwa 1 kp/cm über- schritten werden. Abrupte Druckverän- derungen sind unbedingt zu vermeiden.

Temperaturbeständigkeit

Die höchstzulässige Gebrauchstemperatur beträgt ca. 500 Grad Celsius. Um permanente Spannungen zu vermeiden, sollten Aufheiz- und Abkühlgeschwindigkeiten ca. 5 Grad C/min. nicht übersteigen. Feuchte Glasfilter-Geräte werden langsam auf 80 Grad C erhitzt und eine Stunde getrocknet, bevor die Temperatur weiter erhöht wird. Spannungen beeinträchtigen die Druck- und Temperaturwechselbeständigkeit des Glases. Abrupte Temperaturveränderungen sind unbedingt zu vermeiden.

Cleaning

Before the first use of glassfilters, they should be cleaned with diluted ( 10%), warm ~hydrochloric acid, followed by several rinses with distilled water to remove dust and loose particles. Glassfilters should be cleaned immediately after their use. The surfaces can be wiped with a soft squeegee or brush. Surface rinsing with a wash bottle or back-flushing under the water tap is often sufficient.

Pressure and Vacuum

Even small scratches or internal abrasions of the glass surface can greatly reduce the vacuum- or pressure resistance. Filter pores may clog during filtration and cause a pressure

2drop. In any case 1 kp/cm may not be exceeded. Never subject glassware to sudden pressure changes.

Temperature Resistance

The maximum allowable service temperature is approx. 500 degrees Centigrade. To avoid permanent stress, the heating and cooling rate should not exceed 5 degrees C/min. Wet glass-filters should slowly be heated up to 80 degrees C and dried for one hour, before temperature is increased. Permanent stress can reduce the mechanical and thermal resistance. Never subject glassware to sudden temperature changes.

Flusssäure, konzentrierte Phosphorsäure und alkalische Lösungen greifen mit zunehmender Konzentration und Temperatur die Glas- oberfläche an und beeinträchtigen die Festigkeit und Lebensdauer von Sinterfiltern.

Arbeitsschutz

Arbeiten mit Glas erfordern immer einen Schutz vor Scherben und Splittern. Bei Druck- und Vakuumfiltration empfiehlt sich die Verwendung von Schutzscheiben, -vor-hängen, oder -hauben bzw. das Arbeiten im Abzug. Zumindest sollten Schutzbrille und Handschuhe getragen werden. Mit dem möglichen Austreten von verwendeten Reagenzien muss gerechnet werden.

Chemical Resistance

High concentrations of hydrofluoric acid or hot alkali solutions attack the glass with increasing temperature and can cause a deterioration in the filter and a destruction of the pore size.

Safety Advice

When working with glassware always wear protective glasses and protective gloves to avoid injuries. Use a safety screen, -hood or similar protection when working with glassware subject to pressure or vacuum. Be prepared, that reagents may leak from a broken vessel.
