Since 1997 the higher education sector in Uzbekistan has been regulated by the Education Act, the NPPT, a Regulation on higher education and various laws and specific resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Cabinet of Ministers. Every 5 years, higher education institutions (HEIs) have to undergo a state attestation procedure in accordance with a specific regulation adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers.


State Educational Standards

Continuity with and links between general secondary, secondary specialised, vocational and higher education are important aspects of higher education quality. So far, the State Educational Standards (SES) have been updated for 269 Bachelor areas and 845 specialities at Master level. The quality of higher education is assured by the SES which set the minimum requirements for each educational level, describe the main features, structure, content and implementation of curricula, ensure the quality control of personnel training and set the compulsory (core) comp
