R!de Himalaya Outline
The Tour
R!de Himalaya is an 18 day, 2500 km journey by Royal Enfield over several of the World’s highest roads, including Khardung La, the Planet’s highest ‘motorable’ pass. It’s a journey that will, literally take your breath away.
Experience the amazing, colourful and vibrant life of India, the snow-peaked Himalayan Mountains, cliff hugging Buddhist monasteries, the splendour of grand Kashmiri house boats, and the mystique of the Taj Mahal.
You will be riding on fantastic roads with breath taking scenery and enjoying the cultural highlights of towns such as Manali, Leh and Srinagar as well as the hustle and bustle of New Delhi.
India is a cultural melting pot, a test to all your senses and a thrill to the adventurous, and you will experience a fraction of its sheer vastness in eighteen days.
Highlights
Trains - no journey to India is complete without a journey by
Indian Rail.
Mussoorie - at 3000 meters, this former British hill station, is
only considered to be in the foothills. You will find a warm
welcome in Archana’s home town and a great place to get
acclimatised. It’s also the perfect place to get acquainted
with your Royal Enfield on some short rides.
Lahdak, Jammu & Kashmir - Mountains, mountain passes
and mountain people will be your highlights through this awe
inspiring region. With hairpin bend after hairpin bend
motorcycling doesn’t get any better than this. Around every
turn there is something more amazing than the last on a road
that will take you through the rich and varied tapestry of life
that is India, from Hindu India, to Buddhist India through to
Muslim India.
Srinagar - Experience the peace and majesty of an intricately
carved British Raj houseboat on Lake Nageen.
New Delhi - With more people than the population of
Australia in one city your experience of Delhi will be one
you’ll never forget.
The tour culminates with a visit to one of the seven wonders
of the World, the majestic Taj Mahal.
Your Bike
Manufactured in India since 1949, the Royal Enfield Bullet is now the oldest motorcycle brand in the world still in production and is synonymous with motorcycling in India. Not only will you ride it over the highest roads but there is the opportunity to export one back to Australia. Royal Enfield Bullet - 500cc, Single, 4 Stroke.

Guides
Tim and Archana Brammall
Your hosts Tim and Archana have been operating in the
adventure tour industry for over ten years and have operated
and guided for a range of experiences from all-terrain vehicle
and multi-day hiking tours to luxury remote wilderness camps.
Widely travelled, their lives traverse 3 countries, their native
homes of Australia, India and Ethiopia.
They have undertaken extensive motorbike adventures
throughout Australia, Europe, Vietnam and India.
The Indian Himalayan town of Mussoorie, the launching place
for the tour, is Archana’s home town and the Himalaya’s are
their backyard. The front cover of this brochure features Tim
riding his 2 stroke Yamaha RX 135 over the Himalaya in 2005.
Who better to show you the marvel that is India and proudly
welcome you to this place called home.
Tim and Archana live in Tasmania, Australia with their 2 young
children.
Eli Jorgenson Jeshurun Hofmann. (Jeshi)
Eli’s love of motorcycling is contagious.
Having ridden throughout Australia and operated as a quad
bike tour guide, Eli was ‘blown away’ by his ‘highest road’
experience when he first undertook it in 2005. He’s also a
regular Mr Fix It.
Of Australian/German decent, Jeshi was in fact born in
Manali, India and grew up in Mussoorie and the Indian
Himalaya.
Fluent in Hindi (and several other languages) Jeshi is a keen
motorcyclist and has ridden extensively throughout India.
