Highgate United FCThe Gate were formed in 1948 by a group of orphansfrom Father Hudsons’s Homes in Coleshill who met upfollowing wartime service. After progressing from juniorfootball where they played in the South Birminghamleague. Highgate joined the Worcestershire Combinationin 1964, initially in Division Two., promoted to DivisionOne at the first attempt the club then remained in theleague's top division for over forty seasons.

Highgate United play in the Midland Football Alliance.The Midland Football Alliance is a semi-professionalleague that covers the counties of Leicestershire,Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands,Worcestershire together with the southern parts ofDerbyshire and Nottinghamshire. The league consists ofa single division which sits at Step 5 of the NationalLeague System, or the ninth level of the overall Englishfootball league system. This means Highgate United arecurrently five divisions below npower League 2.

As well as competing in the Midland Football Allianceand local cups, the club compete in the FA Cup and theBirmingham Senior Cup, the latter seeing both WestBromwich Albion and Birmingham City visit our TytheBarn ground in recent seasons.

Next season we have agreed a groundshare deal with Blackwood FC of the Midland Combination and Redditch UnitedMidland Premier Junior side, so any ground advertising will receive far more exposure than the current facts and figures.
