Meet your tour leader at Sydney airport for our flight to Istanbul.

DAY 2 THU 14 APRILISTANBUL

Check in for the next five nights at five-star Dosso Dossi Hotel in the heart of the city. Welcome dinner.

DAY 3 FRI 15 APRILISTANBUL

The Old City first with a glimpse of ancient Turkish life at the Topkapi Palace. Then to the 6thC Hagia Sophia. 17thC Blue Mosque famous for its minarets and blue tiles. Finish in Hippodrone Square in the heart of Constantinople.

DAY 4 SAT 16 APRILISTANBUL

Shop till we drop at the Grand Bazaar. Then Egyptian Bazaar, known for its spices and tasty sweets. We can’t miss the Rustem Pasa Mosque for those striking Iznik tiled walls. Unforgettable belly dancing performance in an old Turkish Bath house tonight.

DAY 5 SUN 17 APRILISTANBUL

The sparkling Bosphorus Sea with stops to a little fishing town, boat

cruise and fish lunch. Museum to see silver, ceramics and embroidery.

DAY 6 MON 18 APRILISTANBUL

Celebrate the tulip today, witness the exciting flower auction in Istanbul, the biggest of its kind in the Middle East. See fields filled with tulips in full flower, and delve into how tulips have influenced Ottoman art.

DAY 7 TUE 19 APRILISTANBUL - CAPPADOCIA

Flight to Cappadocia to visit the Underground city of Kaymakli, dating back to 1200BC. Walk along the shaded river valley of Ihlara dotted with cave churches and rock formations. Listen to nightingales sing during our lunch on the river. Check into our cave hotel, Yunak Houses Hotel for the next two nights.

DAY 8 WED 20 APRILCAPPADOCIA

One of the wonders of the world – a volcanic moon landscape, Goreme Open Air Museum, painted cave churches. Pottery village visit, free time. Special ‘sema’ dance performance tonight.

DAY 9 THU 21 APRILCAPPADOCIA - BODRUM

The Aegeon Sea is so turquoise, our private boat takes us to pretty inlets and glittering bays. Lunch onboard.

DAY 12 SUN 24 APRILBODRUM TO KUSADASI

Visit a local home and village with our textile specialist. See ruins of Heraklia with spring wildflowers. We check into the Kismet Hotel for three nights.

DAY 13 MON 25 APRILKUSADASI

Visit a small village famous for wine, oils and soaps, drive to Camlik to see naturally dyed carpets, then visit the house of Virgin Mary. We’ll savour Ephesus city and walk the marble road. Dinner tonight.

DAY 14 TUE 26 APRILKUSADASI

Experience Turkey’s traditional

crafts at the Tire local street market, handicraft markets and sampling of delectable Tire meatballs. See collections of lace, needlework, costumes, silk and linen, visiting Odemis and Birgi. Dinner included this evening.

DAY 15 WED 27 APRILKUSADASI TO CANAKKALE

Head north to the ancient city of Pergamum, the capital of the east Roman Empire and visit an olive oil museum. Dinner and overnight stay at the Akol Hotel in Canakkale.

DAY 16 THU 28 APRILCANAKKALE TO ISTANBUL

Make a pilgrimage to Gallipoli including Lone Pine Cemetary and Anzoc Cove. Stay two nights at the Dosso Dossi Hotel, Instanbul.

DAY 17 FRI 29 APRILISTANBUL Free day to catch up with shopping, enjoy a Turkish bath or more city sites. Farewell dinner tonight.

DAY 18 SAT 30 APRILISTANBUL TO HOMETransfer to airport for flight home.
