upcoming Ladies’ Day. If you signed up to help or will

help, please bring your cleaning supplies & meet in

Family Retreat

I wanted to give everyone another reminder about the Fall Family Retreat Nov. 13-

15 at Camp Maywood. The price and the lessons are listed on the other side of

this Newsletter. For a spiritual family getaway it can’t be beat! Partnering with oth-

er local congregations is another great benefit of the weekend. Strengthening our

relationships with other Christians is a great way to strengthen our communities.

So if you’ve been thinking about going, the answer is yes! Please sign the list in

the commons area so the right amount of food can be ordered. If you have any

questions please see me.

Mission Trip

Caleb Martin did an awesome job presenting his mission trip report Sunday night.

We should all be involved in the mission field, whether foreign or in our own back

yard. Our youth group is planning on doing an Inner City VBS this summer in

Orlando, FL. If anyone would like to help us in any way, please let me know and I

will tell you what we need. Caleb mentioned in his presentation that because of

your support he is in love with missions and plans on continuing doing them. We

may help someone in the HYG become mission minded this summer.

Counter Culture

In the past the term counter culture has been looked at negatively by Christians.

That term was used to describe those who were different than the mainstream. In

the past several years the mainstream has changed. Now the Christian is counter

culture. This is something we should embrace, we shouldn’t be like everyone else.

The Bible reminds us in Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter by the narrow

gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to
