Student Writing

Some fabulous writing from Room 5 stu-dents … and a very current topic … RAIN!!!

Pouring rain thumping on the roof like the sound of

dreadful thunder. Like a cheetah that got out of the zoo.

The rain soaks up the mushy grass. Dribbling down the

window trying to come in. It feels as wet as a snail’s

slimy back. Flooding my feet like I was in a cold pool.

Charlotte Tidmarsh

As the rain hit the mushy ground it screamed while it

could. It surfs down your roof as it sings to a soft lulla-

by. As I went outside a sound got louder and louder ‘til

it started to roar as loud as a tiger. I was not scared. I

kept going. When I got out the door I felt freezing like

winter snow. The rain felt like snowballs hitting me.

Hayley Morgan

Rain pounding the roof like bits of metal. Rain bowling

the Hinuera stone on the side of it. The stone just man-

aging to sustain the blowing, pouring rain. Pounding on

it like tools. The wind blowing more furiously than

ever.

Thomas Parsons

Splash! Went the puddle as I jumped in. The rain is

dribbling down my nose like a tickling feather. Zoom-
