Music Boosts Brain Activity
Above participant Tom learns to play the harp and gets a hug from young
volunteer Svetlana.
Participant William enjoys Dulcimer lessons at LEC.
Participants relax while listening to volunteer and saxophone player Tim Crotts.
For people living with dementia, music therapy can help maintain cognitive levels and enhance overall brain functioning. LEC specializes in dementia care and rou-tinely incorporates music therapy programs into participants’ schedules as a way to keep them engaged and stimulated. Whether participants play an instrument, enjoy the proc-ess of learning, or just like listening in, there are always sweet and soulful sounds at LEC.
