Dr. Hisashi Ishitani is Professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, Professor of Seikei University, Head Director of New Energy Promotion Council, and President of Japan Society of Energy and Resorces. He graduated and received a Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo . He began his career at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science of the University of Tokyo, and was Professor of the faculty of Engineering from 1989 to 2002. He then joined the Keio University and was Professor of Graduate School of Media and Governance from 2002 to 2009. He has a profound knowledge of environmental and energy issues, and has been playing leading roles in various national committees related to energy saving, global environment as well as battery/hybrid/fuel cell electric vehicles . He is one of the longest -serving steering committee member of EVS symposia, and acted as President of WEVA and President of EVAAP. Major subjects of his study are high performance EV design development and evaluation, evaluation of CO2 emission reduction system, energy saving system technology, and guidance control of space vehicle.
