The HISP Focus Globally

• Supporting health reforms: eg, HISP national standard in South Africa. (see www.hisp.org)

• Research: 10 Phd students doing thesis within HISP framework.

• Education: 25 students doing Masters studies within HISP framework.

• Enabling global benchmarks, such as open source platform, data standards etc.

• Enabling south-south-north collaborative networks.

• Brief overview of status:– Started in December 2000– HISP team consists of about 12 full time,

dedicated people– Kuppam 9 PHC, full implementation, MPHAs

and MOs are routinely doing data entry, report generation, and starting analysis of own data

– Madnapally, started in 2003 January, 9 Hubs, data entry and report generation are routinely being done
