Rise of Dictators in Germany, Italy and Japan

Germany, Italy, and Japan were called the Axis of Power. They rose to power because they believed in fascism and doing things for the good of the country. In Germany, many people were unemployed so they wanted a way to become powerful again.

American Isolationism

At first America didn't want to get involved in WWII.

The US wanted to keep trading without any fighting.

Neutrality Act of 1935

 

America pass these laws that said countries could still buy war good from US only if they paid in cash.

The US wanted Britain to win the war but could not say it without getting in a fight with the Axis Countries

FDR’s Quarantine Speech FDR made a speech

on October 5, 1937 talking about quarantining the aggressor countries.

He did not mention what countries but everybody knew it was Germany, Italy, and Japan

Ca$h-and-Carry policy Cash and Carry policy

was part of the Neutrality Act of 1939.

Countries could trade with US but they had to have cash and leave right away when they got the goods.

US Embargo on Japan Japan got oil from the

US The embargo Act said

that the US would not give any more oil to Japan.

This made Japan very mad because they need oil to fight war

They were a group of MA compensation workers.

Group is one of Massachusetts' leading workers' compensation insurers.

Pearl Harbor attacked

The Japan attacked the Pearl Harbor because the United States was interfering with WWII. They wanted to test U.S and see if they would fight back.
