ANNUAL REPORT FOR 2018-19
Dear Brothers & Sisters,
It is my great pleasure and privilege to present the Annual Report of
Bharat Vikas Parishad for the year 2018-19. It covers the organizational
activities undertaken for expansion of our work as well as various
programmes in the fields of Sanskar, Sewa and other multifarious activities
held throughout the country to achieve our objectives.
A. ORGANISATION & FINANCE
1. National Core Committee meetings were held every month of the year
to facilitate day to day working of the Parishad.
2. National Executive Committee met twice during the year for its
deliberations on 18th Aug. 2018 at BVP Bhawan, Pitampura, Delhi
and on 21st Dec. 2018 at Faridabad at the time of National Conference.

4. Meetings of all office bearers belonging to National, Regional, Prantiya
and Mahila & Bal Vikas Yojana were held on 3rd June 2018 at BVP
Bhawan, Pitampura, Delhi.
5. Meeting com-workshop of organizational matters was organized on
15th July 2018 at BVP Bhawan, Pitampura, Delhi
6. Time to time meetings of all project committees were held to discuss
policies and review progress of the projects.
7. National Council Meeting was organized at BVP, Bhwann Pitampura,
Delhi on 19th Sept. 2018 to approve annual accounts and budget in
which 108 members participated.
8. Mahila Karyakarta Sammelan All the Seven Regions organised
sammelans:

More than 5000 mahila karyakartas participated in the above
sammelans.
In addition, during the year prants and branches organised 119
programmes of Mahila Sammelan in which 10,780 members
participated.
9. National Conference : The National Conference of the Parishad
was held in Faridabad (Haryana South) on 22nd – 23rd Dec. 2018
which was attended by more than 3000 delegates from all over India
The deliberations of the conference were spread over various
sessions. In the 1st session National President Dr. S.C. Gupta
delivered the inaugural address. He emphasized the role of office
bearers in implementing the Sewa & Sanskar projects of the Parishad
which are aimed at proper development of our nation. He also
appealed for adoption of One Branch - One Village programme and
taking up Mahila Sashaktikaran and Beti Bachao – Beti Padhao.
Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana was the
Chief Guest at the inaugural session. He inspired all delegates by his
motivational speech. The conference was also graced by many other
distinguished personalities like Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Social Justice
and Empowerment Minister Govt. of India and Shri Vipul Goyal
Industry Minister of Haryana Government.
Maniya Shri Mukunda Rao ji, Sahsarkaryawah, RSS gave his valuable
Margdarshan to the delegates.
10. Regions, Prants & Branches: As on 31st March 2019 there were 7
Regions and 72 Prants. With continued efforts of our office bearers
and members we have been maintaining steady increase in the
number of branches and membership of the Parishad. Based on
Central Share actually received in the Central Office, the number of
branches and members during the last four years are shown below:

11. Permanent Corpus Fund :For financing our projects and to provide
funds for urgent relief works, Parishad has two schemes viz. “Vikas
Ratna” and “Vikas Mitra”. During the year, 9 new Vikas Ratna and 35
Vikas Mitra were added. Thus as on 31.03.2019, there were 186
Vikas Ratna and 3,640 Vikas Mitra.
12. Financial Assistance to Projects : During 2018-19 a sum of
Rs. 33.29 lakhs was provided to finance followings projects :
i. One Ambulance (Rs. 13 lakhs) for BVP Akhnoor branch through
J&K Prant to provide immediate relief to the needy people of
border area.
ii. 15 no. of Computers (Rs. 3 lakh) for BVP Khurja Girls Inter College
iii. Rs. 2.95 lakh to Tripura Prant for starting a Stitching /Loom Center
at Agartala.
iv. Rs. 3.52 lakh to Manipur Prant for Embroidery Centre at Thomba
and for purchase of two computers for their Girls Computer
Centre.
v. Rs. 6 lakh to Manipur Prant for construction of 50 toilets.
vi. In addition financial assistance was provided for improvement of
infrastructure, and Physiotherapy / Medical equipment for various
permanent projects.
13. Accounts for 2018-19 : An audited Balance Sheet and Income &
Expenditure Account of all activities of Bharat Vikas Parishad as a
whole i.e. consolidating accounts of Central Office as well as all the
Prants for the year 2018-19 are at Annexures.
B. PROJECTS & PROGRAMMES
I. SANSKAR
1. National Group Song Competition (N.G.S.C.) : National Group Song
Competition of patriotic songs is one of our oldest project ever since
1st National Group Song Competition was held in 1967. Students of
class 6th to 12th throughout the country are encouraged to participate
in this programme at branch level, the participation of students during
2018-19 has been as under:

The 51st National level NGSC programme was held on 2nd Dec. 2018
Hyderabad (Telangana). All seven winning teams from seven regions
participated enthusiastically by rendering patriotic songs in Hindi,
Sanskrit and Folk songs. The function was inaugurated by Justice V.
Siva Sankara Rao, Hon’ble Judge of A.P. and Telangana High Court
as chief guest and Smt. Abhilasha Bisht, IPS (IGP) as a guest of
Honour. Valedictory and Prize distribution session was graced by
Shri R.K. Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister for Power Govt. of India as
chief guest. The function was presided over by Dr. S.C. Gupta -
National President and other distinguished personalities like Shri Ajay
Dutta, National Secretary General, Shri Ramesh Chand Jain National
Vice President, National Org. Secretary Shri Suresh Jain, along with
National Project (NGSC) functionaries. Regional office bearers of
the concerned region also graced the function.
2. Bharat Ko Jano: This competition is a quiz programme for school
children to increase their awareness about the distinctive features of
our country and culture. This completion is being held at branch,
prant, region and national levels. The programme is organized in
each school in two categories Junior (class 6th to 8th) and Senior (class
9th to 12th). During 2018-19, the participation of students in Bharat Ko
Jano Competition was as under:

During the year 18th National level Bharat Ko Jano competition was
held on 11th & 12th Jan. 2019 at Bhilwara (Rajasthan). Both the teams
(junior & senior) from all the seven regions participated. The function
was inaugurated by Shri Trilok Chand Chhabra, renowned industrialist
as chief guest and guest of honor Shri Prakash Chand Pagariya, district
judge. Prize distribution session was graced by Shri V.P. Singh Badnore
Hon’ble Governor of Punjab as chief guest.
The function was presided over by Dr. S.C. Gupta - National President
and other distinguished personalities like Shri Ajay Dutta, National
Secretary General, Shri Shri Shantilal Pangariya National Vice

President, National Org. Secretary Shri Suresh Jain, along with
National project (BKJ) functionaries. Regional office bearers of the
concerned region also graced the function.
3. Guru Vandan – Chhatra Abhinandan : The Guru Vandan-Chhatra
Abhinandan programme aims to imbibe and reinforce in the minds
of children their respect for their parents and teachers, whose
blessings will enable them to be successful in life. Under this
programme representatives of branches visit number of schools in
their areas to express thanks and gratitudes to the teachers and
congratulate the meritorious students.
During the year, about 13 lakhs students participated in the programme
as shown below:

4. Guru Tegh Bahadur Balidan Diwas and Other Inspiring Events :
Bharat Vikas Parishad has been observing the martyrdom day of Guru
Teg Bahadur for many years. During the year public meetings,
seminars and exhibitions were held to highlight the sacrifices of Sikh
Gurus and pay respectful homage to the great patriot. Other inspiring
events were also organized by the Parishad.
During the year 412 branches from all over the country organized
736 programmes in which a total of 69,990 persons participated.
5. Bal, Yuva, Mahila and Parivar Sanskar Shivirs: During the year
216 branches organized 252 Bal/Yuva Shivirs in which total
participation was 31,150.
6. Praudh Sadhna Shivir (senior citizen’s development): Praudh
Sadhna Shivirs aim to prepare retired persons to lead active,
purposeful and dedicated social life.
During 2018-19 prants and branches organized 36 Shivirs of proudh
sadhna where in total of 2687 senior citizens participated.
II. SEWA
1. Divyang Sahayata (Assistance to Physically Challenged) : To
help the differently abled persons to fully participate in the social and
national life, parishad has been implementing Divyang Sahayata and
Punarvas Yojna. This is the most important programme of the Bharat
Vikas Parishad. Begning with establishment with first Viklang Kendra
in 1990, there are 13 Divyang Sahayata and Punarvas Kendra in

various states, which provide artificial limbs free of cost to the needy
persons through their centers as well as by organizing camps. Two of
our centers have won President of India Award and One FICCI Award.
During the year, the branches provided artificial limbs to 13,573
divyangjan through camps. In addition, our Divyang Sahayata Kendra
provided artificial limbs to 10,191 to physically challenged. Till March,
2019 our Divyand Sahayata Kendras have so far provided artificial
limbs to 2.80 lakhs physically challenged as detailed below:

In addition, during the year more than one thousand physically
challenged persons were rehabilitated by our Divyang Kendras by
providing them training in various vocations, securing employment or
in obtaining railway passes etc.
2. One Branch – One Village Programme: Under this project branches
have adopted basti/villages for their development through health
checkup camps, visit of medical vans, vocational training centers,
sanskar kendras and educational centers. During the year Parishad
adopted 72 villages under this scheme.
3. Samagra Gram Vikas Yojana: Bharat Vikas Parishad, with the
assistance from Jindal Foundation, (Canada) has taken up Samagra
Gram Vikas Project for all round development of villages in the various
parts of the country. So far work in 65 villages has been taken up of
these work in following villages 16 has been completed.

Work in remaining 49 villages is at various stages of implementation
Parishad has so far provided financial assistance amounted to
Rs. 4.23 crore for this project. This amount is exclusive of the
contribution made by villagers by way funds and labour provided.
4. Vanvasi Sahayata (Tribal Development): Bharat Vikas Parishad has
been working for the welfare and uplift of the vanvasis of the country
in general and North Eastern states in particular. Parishad has adopted
no. of projects like construction of toilets, embroidery / stitching centers,
computer education center, hostels, ekal vidyalaya, libraries, medical
vans, solar plants, drinking water and other vocational training centers.
5. Environment: Bharat Vikas Parishad is extensively working in the
field of environment Under this project branches take up tree plantation,
distribution of plants, installation of tree guards, distribution of tulsi
plants, distribution of cloth bags and seminars on the water harvesting,
no plastic use and other awareness programme related to
environment.
During the year our branches organized 697 awareness programmes
and planted 73,545 plants and 42,650 Tulsi plants distributed – a total
of 1.16 lakh plants.
6. Health : Our branches regularly hold health checkup blood donation
camps and specialized medical camps i.e. dental care, eye care, TB
camps, hepatitis camps and camp for deaf etc. Facilities for eye
donation and surgery were also provided. Branches also regularly
organize seminars on the various aspects of the health and conduct
yoga camps at large scale. No. of hospitals, diagnostic centers and
dispensary setups are serving the society.
During the year beneficiaries in health camps organised by the
branches were as under:

7. Important Health Centres: Apart from organizing health camps,
Bharat Vikas Parishad has set up hospitals and diagnostics centers
which provide advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities either free
of cost or at highly subsidized rates in spirit of service to the citizens.
i. Bharat Vikas Parishad Charitable Medical Centre,
Chandigarh: One of the Parishad’s pioneer medical facilities the
Diagnostic center provides highly advanced diagnostic and
treatment facilities including pathological laboratory, MRI center,
CT scan center, ultrasound center, X-Ray center, cardiac center,
eye care center and OPD. The OPD is providing consulting for
gynecology, general medicine, orthopedic, skin, pediatric,
gastrointestinal, consultation and prescription.
During the year, the Diagnostic Centre installed 1.5 texla MRI which
provide MRI services to poor patients for Rs. 1900/- only. The reports
are provided within 24 hours.
The number of patients served rose from 4,087 in 1997-98 to 4.61
lakh during 2018-19.
Medical Centre provides services on ‘no profit no loss’ basis. These
charges are one third and in many cases even one fourth of the
normal market rates. During 2018-19, the turnover of the Centre
was ` 9.89 crore.
ii. Bharat Vikas Parishad Hospital & Research Centre, Kota
(Rajasthan): Bharat Vikas Parishad Kota Hospital is a more than
300 bedded super specialty hospital spread over 54000 sq.ft with
78 consultants and 442 staff providing round the clock service for
365 days. Various departments of the hospital included dental,
orthopedic, pediatric, gyne, general physician, ENT, cardiology,
physiotherapy, neurosurgery, neuro physician, urology, cancer
treatment, skin, dietician. All the facilities of pathological diagnosis,
color Doppler, TMT, angiography, solography, digital x-ray etc. are
available.

Super specialty services of advance cath lab, dialysis, CT scan,
fully equipped stroke, ICU, ICCU, PICU and NICU with all modern
equipment are also available.
During the year the hospital provided treatment to a total of 3.82
lakh patients. In addition 19,776 patients were admitted in the
hospital for treatment in various departments. The number of
surgeries performed was 9761.
BVP Blood Bank: The hospital started blood bank named BVP
Blood Bank in Oct.2014 equipped with the latest machines. The
blood bank collected 3,111 units during 2018-19.
Madhav Nursing College, Kota: The nursing college was
established in 2017-18 at a cost of Rs. 6.22 crore and covers
constructed area of 45,000 sq.ft. It provides B.Sc. Nursing 4-Year
Degree Course with annual intake of 40 students. At present there
are 100 students undergoing training.
Madhav Nursing School, Kota: Started in 2017-18, the Nursing
School, with built area of 8,000 sq. ft., provides 3-Year Diploma
course. Its annual intake is 50 students. Second floor of the building
with 15,000 sq.ft. areas has also been completed. At present there
are 110 students undergoing training.
Bharat Vikas Parishad Paramedical Institute, Kota:Two-Year
Diploma Course for Lab, ECG, Blood Bank, O.T., Dialysis,
Orthopedic and Endoscopy Technician was started in 2017-18. Each
Course is for 25 students. At present there are 76 students
undergoing training.
Bharat Vikas Institute of Medical Sciences (BVIMS): Kota
Hospital has required 30 acre land for constructing a national level
Cancer Hospital with Multi-speciality Hospital of 750 beds, Medical
College, Dental College, Ayurvedic College, Naturopathy, Parijan
Niwas etc. The cost of construction of full campus of more than 16
lakh sq. ft. in three phases is estimated to around be Rs. 400 -500
crore.
iii. BVP Charitable Trust Hospital, Ludhiana: Bharat Vikas Parishad
Trust Hospital Ludhiana is running a hospital with 53 staff. During
the year hospital has conducted 8 polio camp undertook 99
operations on 57 patients. The Hospital is also providing
physiotherapy center, homeopathy center, general medicine,
pediatric, gyne, eye department, dental department, acupressure
and acupuncture. During the year trust hospital treated 11,360
patients. Since the year 2005-06 a total of 4.27 lakh patients have
benefitted.

iv. BVP Punarvas Kendra & Sanjay Anand Viklang Hospital &
Research Centre, Patna: It is the Super Specialty Centre for
Prosthetic & Orthotics as well as corrective and innovative surgery
for O.H. Group, Orthopedically Handicapped surgery Unit,
Physiotherapy Centre with state-of-the-art facilities.
One floor costing Rs. 40 lacs (approx.) has been erected for patients
ward with capacity of 40-45 patients. It was inaugurated by Shri
Mohan Bhagwat Ji during the month of February. 2018.
During 2018-19, apart from providing artificial limbs to 814 physically
challenged persons, the centre conducted polio and corrective
surgery on 1134 patients. Further Neuro-therapy Centre also
introduced.
v. Bharat Vikas Parishad Vivekanand Arogya Kendra Gurugram:
Vivekanand Arogya Kendra is run by Bharat Vikas Parishad
Maharana Pratap Nyas Gurugram. Following OPD services are
being provided: cardiology, general physician, general sergon,
gynecology, ophthalmology, physio, pulmonology, neurology. In
addition dialysis, ultrasound, x-ray, eco, TMT, PFT, ECG, EEG,
Memography, OPG, and Holter Test facilities are also being provided.
During the year, Kendra attended to 43,120 patients in its OPD.
vi. Generic Medicine Facilities: Our BVP Trust in Hyderabad is
serving the public through a network of “Bharat Vikas Sanjeevani
Generic Medical Shops” which are operated by qualified
pharmacists. The generic medicines are supplied to the people at
very low rates compared to other commercial medical shops.
Presently, 16 Generic Medical Stores continue to serve over 2,500
patients daily.
8. Samuhik Saral Vivah: Bharat Vikas Parishad has been organizing
Samuhik Saral Vivah of poor and needy young girls and boys as an
important programme every year.
During the year 2018-19 Parishad helped in organising marriages of
763 couples belonging to weaker sections of the society.
9. Permanent projects: At present various branches of Bharat Vikas
Parishad are running over 1,600 permanent projects whose activities
are conducted on daily or weekly basis for the benefit of the
society. These projects include Hospitals, Clinics, Physiotherapy
Centres, Mobile Vans, Pathology Labs, Ultrasound Centres, Blood
Banks, Educational Institutions, Training Centres, Libraries, Reading
Rooms, Yoga Training Centres, Sanskar Kendra, Senior Citizens

welfare Centres, Mukti Dhams, Legal Cells etc. The permanent
projects can be broadly categorized in following areas:

10. Relief Work: During 2018-19, Central Office released a sum of ‘ 5.00
lakh for relief work in Avadh Pradesh, Assam and Kerala for immediate
relief to flood affected brethren.
III. SAMPARK (PUBLIC RELATIONS)
1. Sanskriti Saptah: This annual programme of Sanskrit Saptah is
conducted during the months of July to Sept. It enables the members
to work together in numerous programmes and help create awareness
about the work of the Parishad among the public. The main emphasis
under this programme is on Sampark.
During the year 2018-19, 555 branches organized 3572 programmes
during the Sanskriti Saptah in which 2,37,128 persons participated.
Nasha Mukti & Beti bacho - Beti Padhao awareness programs were
specially organized during Sanskriti Saptah.

2. Sthapana Diwas: On Parishad’s foundation day, branches organized
functions to celebrate the event in order to spread its message among
the masses.
During 2018-19, 700 branches organized 881 programmes in which
a total of 83,759 persons participated.
3. Workshops: During the year branches and Prants organized 105
workshops in which 8439 office bearers participated.
4. Publications: Parishad continued to bring out bilingual monthly journal
“Niti” and quarterly magazine “Gyan Prabha”. Niti’s circulation
touched 68,000 copies.
Parishad’s publications department also brought out revised and
updated literature on various projects and activities of Bharat Vikas
Parishad. It is noteworthy that the latest edition of one of its book
“Bharat Ko Jano” touched approx. 3.00 lakh copies.

In addition, branches and Prants brought out about 50 publications.
5. Parishad’s Website & Social Media : Parishad’s website
(www.bvpindia.com), which is maintained in-house, is now a useful
tool kit for conducting our programmes as well as an effective vehicle
to disseminate information about the activities of the Bharat Vikas
Parishad.
After having successfully served the Parishad for over 13 years by
provided all the updated information required by members to conduct
Parishad’s programmes and serve as a window to the general public,
the website needed an overhaul. During the year, this was achieved
by revamping the website with latest technology making it mobile
friendly and giving it better look in presentation of contents including
daily news blogs. The website has clocked over 7 lakh users with 9.5
lakh sessions and 36 lakh page views.
Parishad is also maintaining its presence on social media such as
Facebook and YouTube providing latest news about the activities of
the Parishad. Branches are also now actively spreading the message
of Bharat Vikas Parishad through the social media and engaging
with the public at large.
I take this opportunity to thank each one of my colleagues at all
levels for their cooperation in our endeavor to service the Nation. In
all humility, I present this report to the worthy delegates of the National
Conference for approval.
