KÖÖPENHAMINA
‘’Kööpenhaminassa tapahtuu paljon kiinnostavaa. Muiden pohjoismaisten pääkaupunkien tapaanmyös Kööpenhaminan metropolialue kasvaa vauhdilla. Kaupungin tavoitteena on saada vuoteen2025 mennessä 100 000 uutta asukasta. Myös työpaikkamäärän kasvun suhteen tavoitteet ovat korkealla – Kööpenhaminaan halutaan luoda 20000 uutta yksityisen sektorin työpaikkaa.
Kööpenhaminassa on käynnissä suuria kaupunkirakentamisprojekteja. Yksi merkittävistä alueista on Örestad, jonne on viimeksi kuluneen runsaan kymmenen vuoden aikana rakennettu suuri uusi kaupunginosa. Alue sijaitsee kaupungin etelälaidalla ja automaattimetro yhdistää sen tehokkaasti Kööpenhaminan keskustaan.Suunnittelu on käynnissä muun muassa alueella nimeltä Nordhavnen. Kööpenhaminalaiset mainostavat Nordhavnenia Skandinavian suurimpana kaupunkirakentamisprojektina – alueelle on tulossa noin 40 000 asukasta.

‘’A digital art installation by the American artist John Maeda creates a dynamic and interactive visual composition in the atrium, projecting words and images onto the white meeting boxes.
The ground oor comprises the common facilities; lecture halls, students’ café, canteen and library. All research and teaching areas are located on the upper oors. Teaching facilities in open study areas surrounding the atrium and research departments in the calmer zones at both ends of the building.
The building stands elevated above terrain. A metal clad frame folds around the entire volume in one singular dynamic movement. The glass facades inside the frame are divided into horizontal ribbons of glass of varying colour and character – powerful green-coloured glass, translucent glass and clear glass.’’

‘’Tanskan Radion kiistelty konserttitalo vihittiin viikonloppuna Kööpenhaminan lähellä Ørestadissa. Talon on suunnitellut maailman arkkitehtien kermaan lukeutuva ranskalainen Jean Nouvel ja se on ehtinyt saada jo julkisen hyväksynnän diplomin ja plakaatin muodossa.
Suureen konserttisaliin mahtuu 1800 kuulijaa.
Lopulliseksi hinnaksi kirjattiin 2,6 miljardia kruunua. Konsertti-talo on osa Danmarks Radion, DR:n, uutta kampusta DR Byeniä, jonka kokonaiskustan-nukset ovat nousseet seitsemään miljardiin Tanskan kruunuun.’’

The Leaning TowersThe iconic two 75 meter towers are striking – standing as a pair they lean out from a common base at a staggering 15 degree incline. This allows for nearly all 814 rooms to have views over the neighboring nature preserve and the city center just a few kilometers away. Being the largest hotel in the Nordic region, the hotel allows the Bella Convention Center to attract even larger international events than ever before. Moreover Bella Sky has reached to become an icon for the Ørestad – Copenhagen’s most modern area.Dynamic and InnovativeThe glass and aluminum facade reects the angled movement of the building and underlines the dynamic urban pulse. Synthetic materials were banned in the selection of materials for the rooms. Carpets are in wool, bed sheets in high thread count cottons, and there is a prevailing use of natural materials such as smoked oak and leather found throughout the décor.Bella Sky opened May 2011.

RAMBOLL HEAD OFFICE
osoite: Hannemanns Allé 53DK-2300 Copenhagen Ssuunnitleija: MIKKELSEN ARKITEKTER, SCHØNHERR LANDSKABSARKITEKTER
vuosi: 2012
RAMBØLL HEADQUARTERS The vision is for this new domicile – with its focus on openness, knowledge sharing and collaboration – to be a holistic and sustainable icon. This is reected in the building’s main architectural feature, the interior street inspired by Barcelona’s world famous shopping area, La Rambla, teeming with café guests, shoppers, artistes, local residents and tourists.
MIKKELSEN ARKITEKTER has integrated the Rambla concept in the building’s central public space with its concentration of extrovert functions such as café, canteen, tness centre, foyer and auditorium creating a framework and contact area for users of the building – regulars as well as visitors. Still based on its source of inspiration in the Catalonian capital the “rambla” of this domicile cuts through the full height of the building. The various areas of the complex are connected horizontally and vertically via mezzanine oors and balconies and by a central stairway leading from ground to fth oor – a three-dimensional thoroughfare, a 3-D rambla.
The actual oces have been located along the outer walls – protecting workplaces from the bustle of the communal areas and aording employees views of the surroundings. In this way the working environment will alternate between quiet seclusion for working at individual tasks and communal areas with focus on collaboration and more extrovert activities.

Yet another tall building is on the way in Ørestad City, close to the city of Copenhagen.Copenhagen Towers II is the north wing of the Copenhagen Towers complex. With its 85 meters, it reaches the maximum building height in Ørestad City – the same height as the neighbor Hotel Crowne PlazaThe new tower will be connected with the Hotel Crowne Plaza and the South Wing Building by a spectacular 1,400 m2 atrium.A new common main entrance will be publicly available and have restaurants and cafes. The new building will set new standards for service and community facilities which will be available to tenants around the clock. The British architectural rm Foster + Partners, who also designed the elephant house at Copenhagen Zoo, has designed the ambitious 22 storey tower, totaling 21,000 m2.Value engineering saves moneyCOWI has carried out a thorough screening of the building project, which led to the shell being converted from a steel structure to a concrete structure. In this way outriggers at the top and bottom of Copenhagen Towers II could be completely avoided, and approx. 575 m2 of additional space was created in the oces because of the thinner wall construction.Furthermore, the screening gave such large nancial savings that the project could go ahead.

Ørestad High School
osoite: Ørestads Boulevard 75suunnitleija: 3XNvuosi:2005
Ørestad High School (Ørestad Gymnasium) is the rst school in Denmark with an architectural design that corresponds to the new visions on content, subject matter, organization, and learning systems that are part of the Danish reforms for high schools that came into eect on August 1, 2005. Flexibility and openness are key words for the new building, which has open rooms, subject zones, and niches for creativity and concentration. The school is located across from the Fields' shopping mall, close to Ørestad Metro Station.Traditional spaces such as classrooms and lounges no longer exist in the high school of the future. Instead, the building is divided into four "study zones." Each has its own oor, each designed like a boomerang and staggered from the others like a shutter on a camera. The oors are linked by a wide, spiral staircase that winds up toward the roof terrace. The staircase is the main axis in the tall foyer - the X-zone - and creates physical and visual links between the dierent study zones, supporting an interdisci-plinary approach.

MOUNTAIN DWELLINGSSuburbs and typical areas with single-family houses clearly served as a source of inspiration for VM Bjerget (Mountain Dwellings), standing immediately next to the elevated Metro tracks in Ørestad City. The award-winning residential complex was built as a number of individual plots stacked on top of one another, cascading down a mountain slope

And indeed, there would not have been room for one on the densely built-up site, situated next to VM Husene.
The building was made for modern people who wish to combine the splendours of the suburban backyard with the social intensity of urban density. The suburban style is further highlighted by the building's position on the site, with all terraces facing towards the old single-family hous-ing district on Western Amager. Thus the view from the Mountain is of back gardens, DIY extensions and red and

The whirlpoolInspired by water in endless motion, the new National Aquarium, The Blue Planet, is shaped like a giant whirlpool with the building itself telling the story of what awaits inside. The Blue Planet is located on an elevated headland towards the sea, north of Kastrup Harbor. Located by the seaside the whirlpool shape connects sea and landscape. The building's distinctive shape is clearly visible for travellers arriving by plane at the nearby Copenhagen Airport. The facade is covered with small diamond-shaped aluminum plates, known as shingles, which adapts to the building's organic form. Just as water aluminium reects the colours and light of the sky and thus the buildings expression varies with the changes in its natural surroundings.Into another worldVisitors reach the entrance by following the rst and longest of the whirlpool’s whirls. With a smooth transition the landscape surpasses for the building, while the outdoor ponds mark the unique experience that awaits the aquarium visitors as they enter The Blue Planet: the whirlpool has pulled them into another world - a world beneath the surface of the sea.Flexible movement between exhibitionsThe circular foyer is the central point of navigation in the aquarium. Here visitors choose which river, lake or ocean to explore. By enabling multiple routes the risk of queues in front of individual aquariums is reduced. Each exhibition has its own theme and entrance from the foyer, where sound and images are used to introduce the atmosphere of the dierent exhibition areas. The restaurant enjoys a magnicent view of the sea, which begins just a few meters away

Juutinrauman silta (tanskaksi Øresundsbroen, ruotsiksi Öresundsbron; siltayhtiö käyttää ”yhdistelmänimeä” Øresundsbron) on yhdistetty rautatie- ja maantiesilta Juutinrauman salmen yli. Silta- ja tunneliyhteys yhdistää kaksi metropolialuetta, Tanskan pääkaupungin Kööpenhaminan ja Ruotsin kolmanneksi suurimman kaupungin Malmön.Juutinrauman sillan pituus on 7 845 metriä ja suurin jänneväli 490 metriä. Silta on maail-man pisin yhdistetyssä rautatie- ja maatieliikenteen käytössä oleva vinoköysisilta. Sillan ylemmällä kannella kulkee nelikaistainen moottoritie E20, alemmalla kaksiraiteinen rautatie. Sillan pylonit kurottuvat 204 metrin korkeuteen. Molemmilla puolilla salmea tehtyine maatöineen yhteys maksoi 30,1 miljardia Tanskan kruunua (vuoden 2000 rahassa).Silta joudutaan aika ajoin sulkemaan myrskysäällä, kuten marraskuun lopulla 2011.[1]

Moderna Museet is one of Europe’s leading museums of modern and contemporary art, with a collection of high international standing. Malmö has one of the most beautiful exhibition spaces in Sweden. An inquiry came from the City of Malmö if Moderna Museet would open a subsidiary in the building on Gasverksgatan 22 (since April 2014 Ola Billgrens plats 2-4). In a unique collaboration with the City of Malmö, Region Skåne and the Swedish government, Moderna Museet Malmö was inaugu-rated on December 26, 2009.
