    REPAIR/RESOLUTION A new ground pad needs to be installed, part number WE1M554. Do not attempt to

    repair the issue by bending the ground strap tab away from the shaft. This will

    prevent the tub from being properly grounded.

    Inspection Procedure

    1) Open the dryer by removing the top panel and the front. 2) Remove the drum from the dryer. 3) You will see the heater or diffuser housing. Remove the 4 screws locking it to the rear panel.

    4) To look behind the heater or diffuser housing, turn it slightly inward so that you can inspect whether the pad is there or not. If it is an electric model, you will also need to unplug some wires on the right of the housing.

    Remove the wires to free the housing Turn the electric dryers housing inward.
