HIGHER CERTIFICATE (NQF5) 120 creditsNational Senior Certificate (NSC) with admission to a Higher Certificate, with English as a subject.

DIPLOMA (NQF6) 360 creditsNational Senior Certificate (NSC) stipulating entrance into Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma with appropriate subjects including English as a subject.

BACHELOR OF DESIGN DEGREE (NQF7) 360 creditsNational Senior Certificate (NSC) stipulating entrance into Bachelor’s Degree with appropriate subjects including English as a subject.

BACHELOR OF ARTS DIGITAL MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION (NQF7) 360 creditsStudents with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) stipulating entrance to a bachelor’s degree, with English and Mathematics as subjects may gain access to the BA in Digital Marketing and Communication. Students must have 50% or above for English, and 40% or above for Mathematics or 60% or above for Mathematical Literacy.

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN USER EXPERIENCE DESIGN (NQF7) 120 creditsGraduates with an appropriate Degree (NQF 7) or Diploma (NQF 6) may gain access to the Advanced Diploma in User Experience Design. Students who wish to take the RPL route will also be considered.

BACHELOR OF ARTS HONOURS IN DESIGN (NQF8) 120 creditsExisting (NQF level 7) BDes Degree or BA in Design or related field, or an Advanced Diploma in Design or a related field may gain access to the BA Honours in Design Degree. Students should have attained a minimum average of 60% in the final level of study in order to be accepted into the programme. Students who wish to take the RPL route will also be considered.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) Applications from students who wish to gain access through RPL will be considered. The RPL process is described in the Inscape Admissions Policy and Inscape RPL Application form.

ADDITIONAL FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS:Universities South Africa (USAF) conditional exemption certificate (when applying for a degree).South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) evaluation of National Senior Certificate NQF4 equivalence (when applying for a higher certificate or diploma). A study permit in the name of Inscape Education Group valid for the duration of the chosen course.

ARTICULATION:

A one year full time or two years part time programme that provides access into a professional qualification at NQF level 6 and 7.

This qualification is an introduction to visual, creative and digital design. It focuses on applied creativity, basic drawing skills, creative mediums and digital graphics. It familiarises students in the areas of graphic design, multimedia design, spatial design, design research and design writing.

Students who have graduated with the Higher Certificate may apply to register for a Diploma in a related field or the Bachelor of Design at Inscape or another institution. The programme meets the SAQA requirements for progression, although acceptance of individual students is at the discretion of the institution.

You can enrol for our Bachelor of Design programme at any campus to complete your 1st year. Our programmes are quality assured and standardised across all Inscape campuses. Students who are accepted into certain degree specialisation programmes might be required to complete their 2nd and 3rd-year studies at another specialised Inscape campus.
