October 2008 Dear Business Partners: The Vista Ridge High School Ranger Band is a stellar example of excellence in Central Texas. Our band members have a shining record of success in local and state competitions, national exhibitions as well as outstanding academic performance and leadership. The band offers numerous benefits to our community including entertaining at various sporting and community events, promoting education in music and leadership, and cultivating the next generation of musicians by recruiting and supporting the middle school band students. The Vista Ridge Band Boosters are a 501(c) organization dedicated to supporting the pursuit of excellence our band strives toward. Although the VRHS band is supported by the Leander Independent School District, the band boosters cover the many additional expenses that must be met to continue our commitment to excellence. These expenses include the purchase and maintenance of our band equipment trailer, increasing transportation costs, maintenance of uniforms, marching drill design and music, expert instructors and technicians for marching, percussion and color guard, contest fees, recordings, communications and operating expenses. The student fees and support from LISD cannot possibly meet the financial demands necessary for the success of our band program. Our largest fund raiser of the year, Holiday Bazaar, is scheduled for Saturday, November 8, from 10:00am – 4:00pm at Vista Ridge High School. We are seeking vendors who would be interested in renting a space for the day ($25, $30, $40 each) as well as businesses who would like to make a tax deductible donation of goods or services to be included in our silent auction. If you wish to simply make a cash donation, in return, we will advertise for you on our popular website www.vrhsband.org and in our concert programs as well as support and promote your business within our band community.
