The sky is so blue, not a cloud to be seen. The Earth is a painting,

with every shade of green. The chirping of birds,

as they gracefully fly by, Amidst the golden hue of the lustrous sky.

The flowers are so fragrant, the trees are their shield,

for under the scorching heat, a breeze they should feel.

It's summer time again, School vacations have just begun.

Time for children to play and have some fun. Time to pursue hobbies and interests,

To do things in other behests. But when summer vacation

is finally through, It's time to hit the books and

    return to school.

  • Dear Delfites,

Summer time is here again. And every summer has its

own story. In summer hair gets lighter, skin gets

darker, water gets warmer, the cool drinks get colder,

music gets louder and life gets better. Summer always

ends with good memories, but for that, we need to

plan ahead. Summer Vacation is synonymous with fun,

frolic, playing for longer hours with friends, going for

picnics, exploring new places and watching fun filled

shows on television. But dear children, there is a lot

more you can do to make your vacations more

interesting, meaningful and full of fun.

  • DEAR CHILDREN, THIS IS FOR YOU

PROMISE TO THE ENVIRONMENT: Go ! Grow ! Glow! As you sow happy

seedswhichsprout and spread all about. Celebrate World Environment Day on

June 5 by plantinga sapling and see your bountiful green bloom !

PLAY OUTDOOR GAMES: Computer games are good. They sharpen your

intellect, but what about the rest of your body? You do need some exercise, dont

you? Go cycling, play badminton, cricket, kho-kho,hide n seek anything

    that will make you run.

SHARPEN YOUR MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: First In Math presents a world

class, engaging and self-paced playground where game design leverages math

practice, so DeLFites take ownership of the learning process. Login on

www.firstinmath.in to explore and practice different skills at least half an hour

    a day.

ENRICH YOUR VOCABULARY: Make a word dictionary using a

telephone/pocket diary which has a separate page for each letter. Now search

words from the book that you read and write on each page at least five new

    words beginning with that letter.

BOOKMARK: Create a bookmark with an inspiring quotation for each of your

    notebooks.Embellish it with your creativity.

WALK TOGETHER: Go for walks with the family. Say hello to the rising sun.

Smell theflowers around you, hear the chirping birds and feel the morning dew.

You will realize youhave two of Gods greatest giftsNATURE and your

FAMILY.Do not forget to thank GOD for these gifts.

  • MY HANDMADE CREATIVE FOLDER: Make a beautiful folder and decorate it

using waste material eg. Cutouts, Mirrors , plastic spoons , buttons, beads etc.

Superb! Your folder is ready to keep your Home Fun activities. Label it and

    bring it to school.

DEAR PARENTS, THIS IS FOR YOU

If you have the time and resources, take them on a

    short holiday,

Help them rediscover the simple joys of life. If you

are busy at work and cannot spend much time with

them, send them off to your native place (assuming

there is still someone there) to discover their roots.

They will learn to occupy themselves without Wi-Fi

    or computers.

Let them help in simple household chores, like

clearing the rooms, making their beds, arranging the

shelves and so on. Teach them the basics of cooking.

Reserve at least 45 minutes a day just talking to

them. Share stories from your childhood (they could

be real), listen to their fears and just bond.

  • Take them to your office if you can. Let them

observe you at work and see how hard you work for

    the family.

Let them spend time with their friends doing the

    usual childhood things.

Ensure that they read books and not just school

    books.

Let your child bond with the grandparents.

Ensure that the family has at least one meal

together, and not in front of the television.

    Wait, Stop, Think

    Before the drop shrinks

The theme of the year at DLF- Bin paani sab soon is all about celebrating the

spirit of togetherness to recognize the importance and need to conserve water-

our lifeline! We intend to take small yet significant steps to save and share the

most important resource present on our planet to make our mother Earth a

happy place to live. Some of the tasks given to the children as Holiday Homefun

have been designed on the same lines. We anticipate your support in

facilitating your childrens work in a spirited manner!

We hope that you and your children will optimally utilize these holidays and

spend quality family time. We also encourage you to create a study plan with

your child emphasizing his/her weak areas. Summer holidays can be

transformed into a time to stretch the mind, explore new hobbies, learn about

    responsibilities and build on skills.
