Equipment: (avg. class size 25) 4-6 quarter-length pool noodles, 4 buckets, a bunch of small items/equipment (ie.beanbags), cones for boundaries. Set-up: Set up cones in a rectangle (I use my volleyball court lines). Spread out all the small equipment items you want (I use beanbags, Kooshballs, popsicle sticks, dice, etc...) inside the cones. Select 4-6 students to be the Ghosts (taggers), give them a noodle, and have the stand inside the cones. Place a trick or treat bucket in each corner of the gym. All other students are the “trick-or-treaters” and spread out around the haunted house. Game Play: When the music starts, all the “trick-or-treaters” travel around the outside of the haunted house (run, skip, walk, etc...) in the same direction. When the music stops, the trick-or- treaters attempt to enter the haunted house and take 1 piece of candy (equipment) without getting tagged. If successful, they take their piece of candy (equipment) and go put it into any trick or treat bucket. If a trick-or-treater gets tagged, they switch places with the Ghost. Start the music and have the students travel around the outside again. Continue starting and stopping the music to keep playing the game. I will occasionally go over to a bucket and dump it back in the Haunted House to keep the game going so we don’t run out of items.
