Welcome to Options Supported Holidays where we organise supported holidays for adults with learning disabilities. We run holidays throughout the year, in the UK, the Mediterranean and far-away places. Our holidays are run by experienced and qualified Holiday leaders and Supporters. All holiday supporters have relevant experience and are DBS checked. What's included? Meeting at the airport (generally a London airport) or hotel, flights, transfers, bed and breakfast with an evening meal and a packed lunch. We have trips out most days in the UK where transport and entrances are included. Some trips out depending on the holiday type when abroad. Supervision from a Holiday Supporter and administering medication. Our holiday supporters are available to the clients at all times. However if you require regular support during sleeping hours there will be an additional cost. The prices shown are for clients with a mild learning disability, needing supervision. For wheelchair users and for those who need extra support, there will be an additional charge, which depends on the client’s requirements. This is to cover the extra relevant costs. The normal ratio is one member of staff to four or five clients, but a one-to-one support can be arranged at an additional cost. There are sometimes additional optional trips at an extra cost, holiday makers will be informed before partaking if there are extra costs. In general we need at least three clients confirmed on a holiday for it to run. We do sometimes run a holiday with less. As soon as we have enough deposits to make the holiday viable, the holiday is guaranteed and we will proceed with making the arrangements. We can also run bespoke holidays- please contact the office for details. Transport Please note that transport to and from our holidays is not included. We are able to provide pick ups at a meeting place or a door to door service at extra cost. Please contact the office for more information.

Wendy Williams has taught children with learning disabilities since 1960, She has been head mistress of two schools in Bedfordshire. In 1983, after having children, Wendy started running the holidays in Gloucestershire. She enjoys, craft, sewing and baking.

Geraint Williams has been running holidays with Wendy since 1984. He started working with people with a learning disability in the late 1970s. He is most frequently seen driving the mini bus as he is a PSV qualified driver. Geraint enjoys Church, riding his motorbike & walking.

Kirk Anderson has been helping out with Options Supported Holidays for 20 years now. Kirk currently works as a Children’s Community Learning Disability Nurse, but still enjoys the occasional holiday with Options. Kirk and Katy had a baby boy in 2015.

Kirstine Mackay started working with Options Supported Holidays over 16 years ago on our canal boat holidays. Since then she has helped on a number of holidays over the years. She has now taken over man-aging the office as well as helping on several holidays. Kirstine enjoys watching rugby, walking her dogs & reading.

Meet some of the team..

Leanne Green joined the Options team in 2012. She has recently gained a 1st Degree in teaching spe-cial needs and currently teaches in a special needs school. She helps with our holidays during the school holiday period. Leanne enjoys meeting new people, skiing and watching football.

Katy Anderson joined the Options team 3 years ago. She has over 10 years of experience supporting children and young people with learning disabilities. She has a 1st class degree in Childhood Studies and Special Needs among many other professional courses. She enjoys dance, craft and had a baby boy in 2015.

Avril Nixon was a librarian working in schools before she retired. She has now worked for Options for many years in both the UK and abroad. She enjoys craft, church and travelling.

Peter Wade is a retired Baptist Minister. He has helped on the Faith week holiday for several years. He enjoyed it so much that when he retired he decided to help on more holidays. He enjoys visiting National Trust properties, hiking and gardening.

Angela has many years of experience supporting people with learning disa-bilities. She thoroughly enjoys spend-ing time with people on holidays and travelling and exploring different plac-es.

Tom Cafferty first worked with Options in 2013. He has been working with people with a learning disability and other difficulties for 5 years, first in America for 6 months and then back in the UK. Tom enjoys Football, history, most Sports and Pokémon hunting!

Jayne Parnell joined the Options team in the office in 2015. She will take your bookings and send you on a fan-tastic holiday. Jayne enjoys rehoming unwanted pets, reading, interior de-sign & decorating and in fine weather zooming about on her motorbike!

Leslie and Mike are both retired, and joined options in 2016 through there daughter Rachel. Lesley has been a carer for most of her life. Her brother has Cerebal Palsy. She previously worked at a primary school as a teaching assistant. Mike worked as a Probation Officer. They enjoy seeing and visiting new places and meeting lots of new people.

Catrin Jones is a qualified occupation-al therapist working with children with various disabilities and adults with learning disabilities. She has worked with both children and adults with dis-abilities in the UK, Romania and America. Catrin enjoys the gym, walk-ing and craft.

Sabine & David Evans joined Options in 2015. Sabine has been a support worker for a national charity for more than 8 years, supporting adults with LD to enjoy life's opportunities. David is a plumber who also enjoys gardening, landscaping & driving vans and minibuses. His oldest son is Autistic and so is experienced in caring for people

with special needs.

Rachel Collins joined Options in late 2014. She has worked with both children and adults with disabilities since 2011. She cur-rently works at the shop Boots, training to be a Healthcare Advisor. She was part of the London Organising Committee for the Olym-pic and Paralympic Games. She was also a member of the St Johns Ambulance for 9 years. She runs a Brownie pack in her spare time.

New in the office in 2016 is Isabel who has previously worked for Cots-wold Volunteers. She will be busy sorting out all the photo albums and holiday diaries for you. Isabel enjoys swimming, days out with her family and spending time at her villa in the Algarve.

30 days of receipt of your deposit to confirm any extra support needs.

If we do not receive your deposit within 21 days we will assume

you no longer require the place on the holiday.

Full payment for holidays is required 8 weeks prior to the holiday start date for holidays in the UK and 14 weeks for holidays

abroad

Air Travel Organiser's Licence (ATOL) is a financial protection scheme managed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The law says your holiday must be protected if you book a holiday with a single travel company that includes flights and accommodation, (including a cruise.) An ATOL is granted after the company has met the CAA's licensing requirements. In the event of Options Supported Holidays Ltd failure, the ATOL scheme ensures customers who paid and contracted with the ATOL holder for certain bookings do not lose the money paid over or get stranded abroad. All the flights and flight-inclusive holidays in this brochure are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. When you pay you will be supplied with an ATOL Certificate. Please ask for it and check to ensure that everything you booked (flights, hotels and other services) is listed on it. Booking Terms and Conditions

Options Supported holidays limited (referred to herein as ‘Options Holidays’) is a UK company 04839964 with its registered office at Greyhound Farmhouse, Barnsley, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 5EF. To make a booking please telephone or email to check availability Then complete a booking form in full and return it with a deposit of 25% of the full cost of the holiday within 21 working days for the booking to be accepted. Full payment of the balance is due 8 weeks prior to the holiday commencement for holidays in the UK and 14 weeks for holidays abroad. Failure to pay may result in the clients’ holiday being cancelled without a refund. Invoices will normally be sent directly to the client unless it is clearly indicated on the booking form that it is to be sent to a third party. Comprehensive Travel Insurance is compulsory for all holidays, in the UK and abroad that is suitable to your needs. We cannot be held responsible for any costs incurred for failure to take out relevant travel insurance. The Client must provide us with evidence of this insurance 28 days prior to departure for all holidays abroad. If we cancel the holiday as we have not achieved the minimum numbers required on the holiday to make it viable, or any event in our opinion renders the holiday unsafe, we reserve the right either to return the clients monies without further compensation or offer the client an alternative holiday. We are not liable to pay any form of compensation if we are forced to cancel or change the holiday as a result of any unforeseen situations. If the client cancels the holiday, the client should notify us in writing as soon as possible, we are only able to except written cancellations. The cancellation charges are calculated according to the number of days prior to the departure that we receive the written cancellation. 57 days or more loss of deposit holidays in the UK 56-31 days prior to departure 75% of cost of holiday charged for holidays in the UK 30 days prior to departure 100% of cost of holiday charge for holidays in the UK 99 days prior to departure loss of deposit charged for holidays outside the UK 98-55 days prior to departure 75% of cost of holiday charged for holidays outside the UK 56 days prior to departure 100% of cost of holiday charged for holidays outside the UK If we can find someone to take your place then you will lose your deposit, plus an admin fee of £35, Alternatively if you can find someone to take your place there will be an admin charge of £35 plus any costs incurred due to a name change as long as that persons needs are the same as yours. The support package is inclusive of basic support and supervision, providing always that we are informed of the true nature of the clients’ disability and given a reasonable amount of information regarding their needs, which must include any details of behavioural disorders. The client must be at least 18 years old at time of the holiday. Personal care is not included in our costs, please contact the office if you require personal care. We can supply extra support at an additional cost. This additional cost is non-negotiable and is set by Options Supported Holidays. The client is responsible for providing their own personal aids, e.g. incontinence aids such as mattress covers, pads, disposable gloves and wheelchairs. Any challenging behaviour which might prove unacceptable to members of the public may result in

the client holiday being terminated with no entitlement to a refund. The client will also be liable for

any costs incurred to return home. Failure to disclose information that may result in requiring extra

support needs may result in the immediate termination of the client holiday with no entitlement to a

refund the client will be responsible for the cost to return home. On receipt of the assessment form,

we will review each client’s needs and we may levy an extra charge if we deem it necessary. It is

imperative that the assessment of needs form is completed fully as this does constitute a support

plan for those requiring extra support. Failure to return the form with in the required time may result in

the loss of your holiday with no refund if we are unable to meet you needs.

Medication can only administered by a holiday supporter provided it has been prepared by a pharmacist, is labelled and packaged appropriately, Failure to have correctly prepared medication may result in your holiday being terminated.

The holiday package includes full board, breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner but excludes drinks. Accommodation is based on 2 or more clients sharing a room. Single rooms are sometimes available at an additional cost and should be requested at the time of booking. If there is no one available for the client to share a room the client will be responsible for the single room supplement. Most excursions are included in the package. Clients would generally be expected to participate in all the excursions. If a client does ‘opt out’ of any excursion, it is not possible to provide an alternative or refund, they would then be left at the accommodation with no supervision. If the client indicates they prefer meals above the choice we offer, then the difference between the costs are the responsibility of the client. Optional extra activities not included in the holiday, the client will be notified before taking part of the extra costs of such activities. Not included in the package are, drinks, snacks, personal items of expenditure such as cards, gifts, sweets, etc. Transport to and from home, to the meeting point or venue, medical expenses, postage, telephone calls, room service at hotels, laundry, personal care & anything not specifically included and notified to the client in writing as part of the package are excluded and for which cost the client is personally liable. The client must ensure that they have sufficient monies to meet these needs. Also not included personal travel insurance, or cancellation insurance or taxes as may be levied by governments (excepting airport tax notified to us at the time of booking the flights) or tips. Holidays begin at the venue, or at an airport (assume a London airport unless specified) or port as notified. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that they are at the departure point or venue in plenty of time, and although we would always endeavour to wait as long as possible, we cannot be held responsible if we have to begin the holiday without the client due to their late arrival. (A door to door service can be provided at an additional cost.) Clients are requested not to bring excessive or inappropriate luggage. Luggage is the clients’ responsibility. We will assist the client with their luggage if possible, but do not accept liability for it or for any damage howsoever caused. For this reason we recommend the client takes out insurance. We will endeavour to send details of travel times, meeting points, clothes lists and other information in good time for the client’s holiday, however, we must advise the client that flight times, etc. can change at short notice and are outside of our control. In this event we would make every effort reasonable to contact the client and advise the client of the change. But it is the client’s responsibility to confirm their travel details with us prior to the departure date, in writing. We do our utmost to ensure that your holidays runs smoothly. If you do have a complaint you must notify us in writing within 28 days of completion of your holiday. We will try and resolve your complaint but if we are unable to you could contact an arbitrator appointed by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, alternatively you could seek legal advice. Your Financial Protection When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong. We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable). If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.
