The PGY2 Critical Care Program conducted by Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center has candidate status by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. This residency site participates in the ASHP Resident Matching Program and agrees that no person at this site will solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.

Candidate RequirementsApplicants must meet the following requirements:
Must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited college or university
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Florida at the start of the residency program
Must be in the process of completing an ASHP-
accredited PGY1 residency program
Must participate in and adhere to the rules of the Resident Matching Program process

VitalWatch provides Health First’s critical care physicians, nurses and pharmacy specialists the ability to monitor real-time vital signs, laboratory results and complete electronic medical records of patients in various intensive care units at all four Health First hospitals from a central location.
As the only state-accredited Level II Trauma Center in Brevard and Indian River counties, the Trauma Center offers 24/7 care with rapid patient transport via First Flight aeromedical helicopter.
Program StructureThe year of residency begins with a six-weekorientation, followed by nine learning experiences(including two electives). Each required learningexperience is six weeks long and each electiveis four weeks long unless otherwise specified.

Program Overview
The critical care residency program at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center is a 12-month program offering core-learning experiences in medical, surgical, neuroscience and cardiovascular intensive care, as well as infectious disease, emergency medicine and an electronic intensive care unit (eICU). The customized program will promote achievement of the resident’s professional goals.
Holmes Regional Medical Center is located in the middle of Florida’s famed Space Coast and is
serving the community since 1937. Holmes Regional features a Level II Trauma Center, the region’s only aeromedical helicopter (First Flight), a Level II Neonatal ICU, a primary stroke center and Health First VitalWatch, Central Florida’s only eICU that remotely monitors all ICU beds across the four-hospital system. Holmes Regional has a 22-bed Medical ICU, 22-bed Surgical ICU, 14-bed Cardiovascular ICU and 60-bed Emergency Department (ED) with four resuscitation/ trauma bays.
