DEAR HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS:

The Season of Advent will be over soon. The Season of Christmas will then begin. What a joyous time in the liturgical year of the Church. The much-awaited event has occurred. The Sav-ior promised throughout the Old Testament was born in a lowly stable in Bethlehem. The promise was ful-filled. And what a fulfilled promise it was then & now. Just think about it---God took flesh for us! The invisible God became visible. As Jesus would often say: “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.” Our God took on human form so that He could bring us the Good News in person. Each time we gather for the celebration of Mass, we remember in a special way what the Baby born at Bethlehem did for us. He suffered, died, & rose so that eternal life could once again be ours. Let us capture the true nature of Christmas. Let us look beyond the presents & par-ties & decorations to see Jesus Himself. He is the true source of our celebration. Let us share the love of the Lord with those who are part of our lives. Let us spread the hope of the manger scene with a world that desperately cries out for hope amidst despair. Let us bring the peace of Jesus to an often violent & war-filled world. Let us be filled with Christmas joy well beyond the Christmas Season. I wish you all a blessed & joyful Christmas. May you know of my special prayers during Mass on Christmas morning. May you know of my gratitude for your prayers, support, kindness, & much more each day. May you know how much your prayers for my mom mean to me. Celebrate well with your families & friends. Open your homes & hearts to the joy that Jesus brings! FATHER JOE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PREVIEW of the Christmas Mass schedule: Monday, Dec. 24th, Christmas Eve---Mass at 4:00 p.m., pre-ceded by a 3:00 p.m. Concert of Carols & Songs by the Contemporary Group, & Mass at 9:00 p.m., preceded by an 8:30 p.m. Concert of Christmas Carols by the Adult Choir; Tuesday, Dec. 25th, Christmas Day--- Mass at 9:00 a.m. PREVIEW of the New Year’s Holy Day schedule---Mary, Mother of God: Monday, Dec. 31, Eve of the Holy Day----Mass at 4:00 p.m.; Tuesday, January 1st, Holy Day, Mass at 9:00 a.m. You have probably invited someone recently for dinner, a party, to a movie, for coffee---HOW ABOUT INVITING A NEIGHBOR, CO-WORKER, FAMILY MEMBER TO CHRISTMAS MASS? DO YOU HAVE EXTRA CHRISTMAS CARDS? Why not send a greeting to our former deacons, now priests? What a beautiful way to keep in touch with those exemplary young men sent to us in the summers past.
