May God shower down is blessings upon them as they become living Tabernacles of His presence. And

may they always remember: “TO SUSTAIN the soul in the pilgrimage of life, God looked over creation, and found nothing that was worthy of it. He then turned to Himself, and resolved to give Himself. O my soul, how great thou art, since nothing less than God can satisfy thee! The food of the soul is the Body and Blood of God! Oh, admirable Food! If we considered it, it would make us lose ourselves in that abyss of love for all eternity! How happy are the pure souls that have the happiness of being united to Our Lord by Communion! They will shine like beautiful diamonds in Heaven, because God will be seen in them.” - St. Jean Marie Vianney

Did you know that you can help Holy Name every time

you shop on Amazon Smile? It costs you nothing!

Father’s Day Cards Father’s Day Cards are avail-able at the entrance of the Church and Chapel. Let us remember in our prayers those who have been fathers to us in many different ways during our lives—whether they be living or deceased. God will always bless those who honor their parents. The

cards will be placed on the altar in the Lady Chapel during the month of June.

A Visitor’s Appreciation Everything on earth has its own time. (To God be the glory) when I was preparing to come here, many things kept on displaying in my mind, such as the weather, the peo-ple, diet, etc. My first few nights, I had to sleep twice, I mean the timing factor, but you know what, Frs. Joseph San-tos and Lazarus Onuh made me to feel right at home. To the people of the Holy Name Parish, oh it is a home coming, you showed me the true university of our catholic faith, the gift of God to humanity. I enjoyed our orderliness, punctuality, fraternal gen-erosity and the act of sharing God’s word and love for hu-manity because that is what we are called to do. For the first time I attended and enjoyed Latin mass, went round to some historic sites, and attended a seminar about the history of Rhode Island. Mr. Richard took me around town and ex-plained few sites to me. I also experienced a couple of dif-ferent dishes around the continent, ate Bacon for the first time. In the rectory, oh food and laughter. Like Peter to Je-sus or Oliver Twist, it is good to have been here; permit me to ask for more opportunity to visit this wonderful and loving people of God. Wishing you all a spirit filled Pentecost experience, the love of God and the communion of saints to abide in your midst, to nurture and increase your joy and share your faith. Amen. Continue to pray for us as we pray for you on our struggle against Islamic invasion, Boko Haram terror, ethnic and religious cleansing by Islamic extremist on our people and land. Recently one of our seminary was burnt down with the host community. Our people are living in constant fear. We believe that God will surely intervene for his peo-ple one day. Thanks to Fr. Joseph Santos once more, my host for all your wonderful generosity. To Fr. Lazarus, oh without you I wouldn’t have been here, for your time re-sources, oh you are a friend in deed. To my new family and friends, you guys are a treasure, words cannot express my joy. Merci boku, Gracia, nagode, thank you all. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Boniface Catholic Diocese of Yola-Nigeia

Simple benefits to online giving at Holy Name through WeShare: [1] You don't have to rush around five minutes before Mass to find the budget envelopes and write the checks. [2] You can support the parish financially - in the amount that fits your budget - even if you can't attend Mass at Holy Name on a particular weekend be-cause you're on vacation. [3] You can make adjustments to the amount you give at any time, right from your computer or mo-bile device. [4] You can even pay for Mass stipends online (AFTER you call the Rectory to confirm the Mass date and time, of course). [5] You can keep the cash in your wallet so that when your kids ask you for money, you'll have some to give to them. Okay, maybe that last one isn't really a BENEFIT... But please consider going to holynameprovi-dence.org to set up a secure online account and start giving online!

Budget donations for last weekend was $2,566 Communication collection was $395

Thank you for your dedication to the Parish

When facing such a daunting and terrible crisis, it can be difficult to find the right way forward.

Let FORMED help. Dr. Tim Gray.. “offers a voice of reason and hope in the midst of these dire scandals. This talk brings light to the darkness.”

Sometimes listen-ing is more fruit-ful then watching. These talks can help.

What people are saying about these talks: INSIGHTFUL AND REFRESHING

With all the scandals in the church during 2018, it is nice to hear some actionable advice. Of course we should fast and pray, but we should also be ready and willing to correct oth-ers when we see them damaging the church, even—and es-pecially—when that person is a bishop. Great talk!

e-van'-gel-ize Things to Consider

Deacon Joe Calvert of the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky, is a convert to the Catholic faith from athe-ism. For him, a hindrance to his entry into the Catholic Church was the widespread ignorance among the Cath-olics he knew about the basics of their faith. He gave the example of one young woman he met who, after 12 years of Catholic school, did not understand what ‘Real Presence’ of Christ in the Eucharist meant.”

So learning the faith is an important part of evange-lism...but remember this too:

Tom Peterson, founder of Catholics Come Home, says that his “first rule of evangelization is: No one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. Potential converts must first experience an evan-gelist’s love and caring, he explained, before they will listen to Catholic teaching or accept an invitation to Church. He also recommends praying every day for the opportunity to share one’s faith. One of his favorite times is at Mass, during the elevation of the chalice, when he specifically mentions people away from the Church.” Our parish evangelization team usually meets on the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10:30 am to noon in the rectory. Our next scheduled meeting is tentatively scheduled for June 29th.

Girls Group: Young Friends of Fatima Our group continues to meet every First Saturday of the month from 1pm to 3pm, followed by confession, praying the Rosary and mass at 4pm in accord-ance with the devotion to Our Lady of Fatima. Our next meeting will be on July 6, 2019. We welcome girls of all ages! Call Thamara Davis at 401-663 5590 for more information.

Young Menz Group To become involved in the Young Menz Group contact Richard Davis or thamara_richard_d @yahoo.com (401)996-0706. Meetings every 1st Saturday at 1 PM. Next meeting July

6, 2019.

By God’s Grace the Sisters Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have agreed to run the Summer Bible Camp this Year for children ages 6 through 12 years of age!!! The Camp will function on the 8th, 9th and 10th of August here at Holy Name. Activities will begin promptly at 9 AM each day and run until 5 PM. Parents are asked to contribute $20 for each child. Think of the joy that this will bring to so many chil-dren of our Parish and neighborhood. More information will be coming out shortly.
