John 13:35  ”By this all people will know that you are

my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

• Our marriages should be the richest

• Our friendships should be the deepest

• Our reputations should be the finest

• *Our outreach should be passionate*

You should embrace and treasure the gospel because the gospel rips

your heart out

Acts 13:2-3

While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”  Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off.

Couple major points on the Holy Spirit leading on Mission

• He progressively leads• He will use both you and the rest of the

body.• It may be in a way or time you don’t

expect

You should embrace and treasure the gospel because the gospel wrecks your 30

year plan

Page 13: Holy Spirit Births Global Mission Acts 13-14

Stories along the way…(Acts 13:12 / 42 / 14:2-3 / 14:19)

• The Procunsul (on Cyprus) believed and was astonished at the teaching of the Lord

• The people (from Antioch) begged that these things might be told them…the next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the Word of the Lord.

• (In Iconium) a great number of both Jews and Greeks believed

• (At Lystra) they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city..but..the next day he went on with Barnabs to Derbe

Page 14: Holy Spirit Births Global Mission Acts 13-14

• Great ironic elements of the gospel: “All you need is need; all you need is nothing.”

• You should embrace and treasure the gospel because the gospel strips you of self importance (and gives you something much better!)
