Beatitudes for Mothers
Blessed are Mothers
Who did without for us, they will be rewarded.
Blessed are Mothers
Who lost sleep when we were sick,
they will find rest.
Blessed are Mothers
Who taught us how to pray,
they will share God’s kingdom.
Blessed are Mothers
Who comforted us, they shall be comforted.
Blessed are Mothers
Who taught us right from wrong,
they will know justice.
Blessed are Mothers
Who shared with us the meaning of peace,
they shall know peace.
Blessed are Mothers
Who taught us the importance of loving God
and each other, they shall see God. -Author Unknown

BANNS OF MARRIAGE:
Announcing the 1st Banns of Marriage for
Cory Metzger & James Mattern.
LITURGICAL REFLECTION
The Church continues the great Easter celebration. For
fifty days we commemorate the glorious resurrection of
Christ from the dead. It is the resurrection of the Lord that
grounds our faith. At the Funeral Mass we commend our
deceased brother or sister in the sure and certain hope that,
together with all who have died with Christ, our dead will
rise with Christ on the last day. Death and resurrection are
at the heart of the believing Christian. Christ died for the
forgiveness of our sins. His resurrection confirms the
Father’s love for his children. Life has been restored and
there is victory over sin and death. Order of Christian
Funerals, 1998/1989, Number 175. Liturgical Reflection...
This is Pentecost Sunday and the fifty days of the Easter
Feast conclude. Today we celebrate the gift of the Holy
Spirit who reveals faith in the death and resurrection of
Jesus Christ. It is the Holy Spirit that enlightens the minds
of believers to go forth and share the good news of the
dying and rising of the Lord. Christians are people of life.
We boldly proclaim our shared faith in Christ’s saving
death and resurrection. With 1.3 billion Catholics we
proclaim with certitude and trust our faith in God’s
abiding love, the Lord’s salvific death and resurrection,
and the Spirit’s guiding presence in our lives.
FAMILIES AND THE GOSPEL
John 17:11-19
Jesus was worried about his disciples and he turned to
prayer. No matter how much time we spend trying to
“guard and protect” our children, each day they become less dependent on us and we must let go and let God. Prayer and
parenting go together. No one understands that more than
Mothers!
**Parish Outreach A basket will reside in the narthex of both IC and SA on an ongoing basis for collection of small prize items for bingo games at the local nursing homes. Please consider buying an item or two for donation. Some suggestions are word searches, crossword puzzles, nut-free candy bars, and single serving snack bags.
BAPTISM CONGRATULATIONS
Elijah Michael Hau, child of
John and Mazzie Hau, was
baptized and welcomed into
our Parish Family. Please
pray for his continued
growth in faith. Jesus said,
"Let the children come to me;
do not prevent them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to
such as these.”
Mark 10:13-16

STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
The stewardship of disciples is not reducible only to one task
or another. It involves embracing, cultivating, enjoying,
sharing – and sometimes also giving up – the goods of
human life.
