Message from the Vice Principal

Hello Holy Trinity families

Thank you to all of the parents that were able to meet

with teachers today for conferences Archbishop

Naumann echoed our thoughts in the all school mass

last Friday when he gave our students a homework

assignment He asked all of the children to give their

parents a hug and thank all of you for sending them to

a Catholic school If your child hasnrsquot done this yet

we assure you itrsquos on their to do list We agree that

parents are the leaders of the domestic church and

therefore the most integral component of getting

each child to heaven We are grateful to partner with

you as we guide these children on their faith and

educational journey

Although this time of year can be such a busy time

there is value in taking time to reflect If you have a

To register please log in to your educonnect account and click on the link Complete Family and Student Registration Information for next year The registration fee remains unchanged from prior years 1 Student - $125 2 Students - $250 3 or more Students - $375 In order to guarantee your spot for next year the fee must be paid in full You can either pay online or via check Checks should be made out to Holy Trinity School and can be dropped off or sent to the school office A late fee of $25 per student will be assessed after February 15

Referral Incentive Program

If current HTS families refer a new family who is not already enrolled they can

earn a $150 tuition coupon for the 2017-18 school year

In order to get the referral incentive the family must fill out the form in the

enrollment packet and be officially registered Call the office if you have

questions

TRASH BAG DRIVE

Trash Bag Envelopes are coming home this weekend with the youngest

child of each family New families should also be receiving samples of the

trash bags that will be sold Envelopes are due back on March 1st Please

make checks payable to Holy Trinity School (HTS) no cash please The

trash bags are the same as in years past white yellow blue or paper bags -

for only $10 per rollbundle Proceeds will go towards newupdates for

technology for the school and teachers If you have any questions please

Holy Trinity Schoolrsquos next fundraising night is Monday Feb 27th at Gambinorsquos

Pizza (8725 Bourgade St Lenexa KS) They will give 10 of sales to the

school This is available all day- lunch and dinner for dine in and carryout (NO

DELIVERY) Donrsquot forget to mention you are with Holy Trinity Thank you for

your continued support

On Monday 213 the 7th and 8th graders will have their dress down day and will leave after lunch at 1145 to go bowling for their Valentinersquos Day Party They will return approx 230pm

Box Tops for Education turn in date is approaching

Our second and final collection date of the 2016-2017 school year for Box Tops will be

Thursday February 23rd When turning in your labels it would be very helpful to have the

label neatly trimmed and expiration date checked During the fall collection we raised

$72800 for our school Letrsquos see if we can double that amount for the spring Remember

prizes will be awarded for the 3 classrooms with the largest number of box tops turned

UNIFORM PICK-UP DATES Your child must be registered and paid before they

Protecting Godrsquos Children - VIRTUS

All employees and volunteers who have substantial contact with children andor youth are

required to attend a VIRTUS training session and submit to background checks prior to any

engagement with children or teens Our next VIRTUS training session here at Holy Trinity will be

Monday - March 6th in the GAST Social Room at 600 pm Visit the Archdiocesan website at

archkckorg to register on-line Keep in mind that you can attend VIRTUS training sessions at

any of the parishes in our Archdiocese where it is offered For more information about the

Science Olympiad Results

Holy Trinitys Science Olympiad team competed at the Warrensburg (MO) Invitational over the weekend The all-day event on Saturday Feb 4 featured 13 of our 21 students competing in 23 STEM-rich events Over 1000 students from six states attended the event Holy Trinity students placed 13th place overall

Highlights include

4th Place The Wright Stuff Ben Popp and Alex Evans

6th Place Hovercraft Nolan Keith and Colin Lavery

6th Place Scrambler Logan Morales and Grant Willis

Thank you to all of the high school mentors this year especially Peter King who helped Dr O run the Wind Power event in Warrensburg

Our next competition is at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) on Saturday February 25 where wersquoll qualify for the State Meet in Wichita

Do you have a 6th or 7th grader who would like to check out Science Olympiad New members are always welcome The competition at JCCC is the perfect opportunity to see our teams in action Please contact Dr O if yoursquore interested

There is a lot of competition in our NEKS region in STEM-rich Science Olympiad which is a

series of competitive events that culminate in a National Competition each year SO has

been going strong since 1976

Coordinator of Catholic Community Hospice will be facilitating a grief support session over the

theme of love and loss Through an interactive conversation the group will explore the nature of

love and grief and will also focus on ways in which our love transforms connects and continues

to shape our lives in the midst of grief and loss If you have lost a loved one and would like to
