Connecting people through visual art Home Art Workshop Packs for people living with dementia and carers Open Art Box CIC are oering weekly Home Art Workshop Packs to residents living with early-stage dementia and their carers in North Herts, Stevenage, Welwyn and Hatfield and St Albans. These Home Workshop Packs, delivered by Open Art Box CIC, contain all the resources and art materials needed to enable people to engage in weekly art projects at home. Each activity is carefully planned by artists, with clear instructions provided. Over the 16 week project, participants are introduced to a wide variety of artistic mediums and styles, including painting, clay, collage and bookmaking. Participants receive weekly telephone calls to discuss their project and support and guidance is available throughout. An important part of the project is being able to share their work with other participants involved, as well as with the wider community to help build a sense of connection and inclusion. Open Art Box CIC have an online gallery, where participants can see their own and others’ work each week. Current participants work can be viewed www.openartbox.org.uk/News The boxes are available for a period of 16 weeks and there are currently 14 spaces available for new participants to start from the week beginning 19th October 2020.
