Principal Report PBL Emails - At Campbelltown East Public School we love to celebrate student successes and achievements. We do this through a wide range of awards and rewards and are always looking at news ways to acknowledge students. At recent Parent Input Session PBL characters were discussed. It was suggested by parents that we send emails to students to celebrate achievements. This is a fantastic idea that we are very happy to introduce. Each fortnight, teachers will recognise the achievement of 1- 3 students in each class with an email delivered by the PBL Characters. This week, Sir Learn-A-Lot will be sending emails out to nominated students email accounts, so keep your eye out. External Validation - CEPS has recently been through the process of completing our External Validation. This has been a fantastic process of evaluating school programs and celebrating the progress that we have made and the overwhelming successes. We look forward to completing the External Validation process early next term with a visit from a panel of Principals to discuss our External Validation submission. Kindergarten Enrolments for 2018 We are now taking enrolments for Kindergarten for 2018. If you have a child who is turning 5 on or before July 31st 2018, they can start next year. Please come and see one of our friendly office staff to complete enrolment. Kindergarten orientation will commence in Term 4. If you know of any new families in the area or families that have school-aged children starting Kindergarten next year please let them know they can come and enrol

Parking around the school - Recently we have had some issues with parents parking illegally around the school. This is an issue that causes great concern as it puts the safety of our students at risk and causes great frustration for other drivers. Illegal parking attracts significant fines and the loss of demerit points. We have requested the support of local Police and Rangers to patrol our school to enforce parking and traffic regulations. Below is the Traffic and Parking fines around School Zones.

School Supervision Teachers are officially on duty from 8.30am each morning. It is important that students are not at school before this time in order to ensure their safety. We have noticed that a lot of students are being dropped off at the front gate at 8.00am or earlier, which is putting their safety at risk. Parents approaching students - If at any time your children have any issues at school, we always encourage them to inform a teacher. At no time is it appropriate for a parent to approach another student or parent in the playground. Community Feedback - Feedback about our school is something that we value. Feedback, positive or negative, leads to valuable discussions and provides ideas about how we can continue to improve at Campbelltown East PS. We regularly solicit feedback from parents, students and the community as we see it is a crucial element that informs our future directions. This term, we have conducted online surveys using Survey Monkey for both parents / community and students and had an afternoon session where parents / carers were invited up to give feedback about the school in general and future directions to inform our 2018 – 2020 School Plan. We greatly appreciate your feedback. If at any time, you have any concerns I encourage you to come up to school and talk to me. Have a great holiday! Janene Cook Principal

PBL Winners

PBL Winners for August 2017 are:

Safe’ Award

Kodi K 3-4CH

Kodi was selected to represent Campbelltown East Public School at a Challenge Day hosted by Bradbury Public School. Kodi was a member of the Stage Two team which completed against 5 schools in 5 rounds of creative challenge activities to accrue points for innovation and teamwork. Kodi displayed exemplary teamwork, supporting peers not as strong in confidence or ability as he was and did so without prompting or direction from the teacher. His effort and ability to lead his team was recongnised and commented on by staff from other schools. Kody showed initiative, quickly starting activities and throwing around itdeas fr his peers to give opinion on. Kodi demonstrated that, althought there was competition embedded within the day, he was focused on having a good time working with this peers and not o winning. It was pleasure to take Kodi to the is event, he did our school proud!

Respectful’ Award

Rachael R

5-6H Once again, Rachael has been an outstanding member of the Senior A Netball team. A true chameleon of the court, Rachael played in a number of positions on the day and even played in some that she had not played in before. She was a fair scorer and respectfully commended the opposing team when they scored a goal. Rachael was an excellent team player, and when she noticed that the CEPS team seemed deflated when they heard what team we were playing, she asked if she could speak to the tem before they went onto the court. I am extremely proud of what I saw happen next. Rachael spoke to her whole team and provided them with such an inspirational speech, and encouraged her teammates to switch from their fixed mindset to a growth mindset. What followed was an absolutely nail biting game, where we eventually were successful and won 11.10. Thank you Rachael, for having the belief in your team when they did not have it in themselves.
