BOSTES Registration
Cobar High was this week visited by
representatives from the Board of Studies Teaching
& Educational Standards NSW (BOSTES). They
review documentation and processes to ensure
compliance with BOSTES registration requirements.
Cobar High was one of twenty government schools
selected this year as part of this external quality
assurance process. We were reviewed in the
Curriculum Areas of Stage 5 Mathematics and
Stage 6 English and policies such as Attendance,
WHS and Suspension.
The process was beneficial as we have identified
some areas that we can modify in order to facilitate
improvement in learning outcomes for our students.
Subject Selection
Year 11 - 2016 subject selection forms are due
tomorrow. The forms will be collated and round 2
selection forms issued thereafter. It is paramount
that these forms are handed in if you wish to have
your choices listed. Those students who do not
submit their forms will have to select from what is
left.
Strive for Excellence
Term 3 is traditionally a very busy time on the
school calendar with 2015 being no exception.
Organisation for 2016 is well underway, Year 12
students are preparing for the HSC, Year 11
students working towards examinations, Year 11 &
12 reports, 2016 subject selections, numerous
sporting and curriculum excursions plus the
dreaded flu season!
Therefore it is essential that we all endeavour to
perform at our maximum. Two PBL expectations
that come straight to mind are:
Strive for personal best
Be prepared for learning
Whitecard Training
Today some students attended Whitecard Training
provided by Links to Learning. The Whitecard is a
general construction induction certificate that is
mandatory for anyone who works or wishes to work
in the construction industry. It is a nationally
recognised qualification. This course provides the
students with basic knowledge of construction work,
Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws which
currently apply, as well as strategies to manage
risks and hazards related to the industry.
