Writing

Create your own feelings diary, think back to your week about what different things happened to make you feel the following emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, fear, calm, and loved. Circles: Draw a picture of what made you feel like this. Label your picture using initial sounds/CVC words. Triangles: Draw a picture of what made you feel like this. Write a sentence about each of the emotions, ensuring the use of a tricky word in your sentence. As well as capital letters, full stops and finger spaces. Squares: Draw a picture of what made you feel like this. Write 2 sentences about each emotion, ensuring the use of a range of tricky words. As well as capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.

Use the ‘Name the Monster’ sheet to name each of the aliens using the sounds at the bottom of the sheet. Remember, these are monster names so they do not have to make sense. Once you have named your monsters, decide which monster is going to represent which feeling. Circles: Colour your monsters in according to their feelings, then label with initial sounds. Ensure correct letter formation throughout. Triangles: Colour your monsters in according to their feelings, then label with their feeling. Ensure correct letter formation throughout. Complete the look, say, write sheet. Read the caption, write it, then cover and write it again. Circles: ‘Pat a dog.’ Triangles: ‘The duck quacks.’ Squares: ‘The goat in the rain.’

Roll and draw a monster… Use the sheet provided by rolling a dice and choosing a body part for your monster, keep going until your monster is completed. Circles: After drawing your monster, label it using initial sounds/CVC words. Triangles: After drawing your monster, write a sentence about it, making sure to use at least one tricky word. Ensure the use of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops throughout. Squares: After drawing your monster, write 2/3 sentence about it, making sure to use a range of tricky words. Ensure the use of capital letters, finger spaces and full stops throughout.

Practice your number formation using a range of different media below as shown below. See images below for ideas including… - Shaving foam - Sand/soil - Glitter - Playdough - Rice/porridge oats

Complete the Number Formation Sheet. Some of the numbers look wrong… can you spot which they are. Then write your own numbers at the bottom making sure they are perfect!

Practice your number formation by making rainbow writing. Use different coloured pencils/pens to go over the outlines of the numerals one at a time. Keep going with all the colours until it makes a rainbow number. See attached images below or create your own.

This week’s grid is all about feelings… sometimes it’s important to take time for yourselves and have fun as a family! This allows you to relax and put your thoughts and feelings on hold… even for just a short time! Some of you will be returning to school next week and some of you will continue to learn from home. We are both missing you an awful lot… so have shrunk ourselves down to be part of your adventures this week! Choose as many activities as you wish and choose the ones that make you happy… remember to pop a picture on Tapestry for us to see as well! Take care… we can’t wait to be a part of family fun!
