Domovoy is a house-spirit in Russia. He looks like a small old man with a beard. The

Domovoy lives in dwelling-houses behind the stove or under the floor. In summer, he moves

to a stable.

He supervises the house and looks after domestic

animals, especially horses. Usually he is friendly to people and helps them about the house. The

Domovoy avoids to appear in somebody's presence,

but he can make any noise under the floor or in any secluded corners of the house. Sometimes he

plays tricks on occupants of the house. According to

beliefs ,it is considered that the Domovoy is a master of the house...

BROWNIEBROWNIE

Brownie is a house spirit of Scotland and England

In folklore, a brownie is a type of hob, similar to a hobgoblin. Brownies are said to inhabit houses and aid in tasks around the house.

However, they do not like to be seen and will only work at night, traditionally in exchange

for small gifts or food.

Brownies seldom spoke with humans, but they held

frequent and affectionate conversations with one

another. They had general assemblies as well, usually

held on a remote, rocky shore. In a certain district of

the Scottish Highlands, "Peallaidh an Spùit"

(Peallaidh of the Spout), "Stochdail a’ Chùirt", and

"Brùnaidh an Easain" (Brownie of the little

waterfall) were names of note at those congresses.

Brownies are mentioned in the book series The Dresden Files by

Jim Butcher starting with the book Summer

Knight where the current Summer Lady, Lily, has

them clean Harry Dresden's house in gratitude for

saving her.
