Pg. 401. Putnam is claiming that there has been a decline is social capital. When looking up the word

social capital is described as “the collective value of all ‘social networkds’ and the inclintions that arise form these networks’” (google definitions). I feel that there really hasn’t been a decline simply because everyone is on social media sharing their opinions and everyone is sharing what they found on the social media as well making me think that there’s been in inclince just because most news feed are blowing up with most poitlital articles. Now the denic diversity as a negative force I community trust and involvement is also something that needs to be inclined. The people will relate better with someone they grew up that they can trust. As a country we started as diverse and now we should be moving forward and not paying attention to all of the backgrounds and ethnic issues as closly and sterotyping them. Judge them by what they bring to the table.

2. 2. A 2001 study found that rising income inequlkaity was an important force in weakening community ties. I find that if we are going to break the norms of society we need to sstart with breaking the belief the woman are not as valueable as men in the workplace. It is an evoliving matter but they should get equal pay for the same work that they are putting in.

Pg 43-473. “The…pervasive problem of capitalist economics is that almost no one fully trusts capitalist” I

agree with this statmetn just because 4. In my mature years, I expect to be wealthier than my parents. Simply because my parents did

not go to college and they work minimum wage at some casino. I deserve to be wealthier than my parents because my parents and I both invested in my education to make a better life and make better pay.

8. A. If my state wanted to expand on prostitution, morally that is the worst idea ever. Simply because that is morally wrong and we as human beings should love ourselves a little more than that but legally there is nothing wrong with that. It is already legal in the state and moving the business to more places where gambling occurs then the prostitutes would make more pay on one person where they could get less pay on a lot of people. B. For argument sake, same-sex marriage is already legal in America. I think that it should have already been legal for some time because I feel the government should have no business in the marriage. Sure there is the legal marriage in order to legally acquire assets from one another but why should that matter? Why should acquiring assets from a heterosexual couple differ from a homosexual one? There is no difference.

1. Gary Becker’s statemnt for a free market approach to America’s immigration difficulties is unrealistic. There is some truth is saying that the reduce of decmand stimulates the suppy but that is only with service and product. Not with actual human beings. Human beings are going to be there and reproduced whether the price of being an American citizen is raised or not. Now if you want people to live legally in theUnited States and raise the price, that is going to cost the governemtn money in the long run. Immigrants are going to enter the country legally or not. One living here they can start their lives and live under the radar whether they have their papers or not. Finding all of the undocumented immigratns is going to cost a lot of money and deporting them back is also going to cost a lot.

1. If companies can do all of this well then they are going to have a great public image and everyone is going to want to be a part of their company. If they treat employees the right way then they are going to have more workers willing to work for them.2. They are not following the Patagonia model because most of the companies don’t really care about the environmental image as others do, they just want to get out their products out and gain the revenuesPg 127-1311) Most of the managerial risks and problems accoumpnaying the gay and lesbian diversity policies in

the workplace are only personal beliefs. The studies have shown that there really is no big budget change in granting benefits to the workers that ae apart of the of the LGBT community. It is all a personal hurdle. They are human and they are American citizens and they are granted the right of living in this country with all the rights they are normally granted no matter what their sexual orientation

2) The gay and lesbial diveriwsty policies contsitue socially respnsibel corporate behavior because theya re showing that they are going to fit in with hier company no matter what they life and what their beleifs are. They are opening the doors with a whole difference community and are bringing in omore profits than those who reject this community and don’t even want to associate themselves with them.

3) There really wouldn’t be a list that I can think of. Maybe there would be an issue on AIDS among the community but other than that there is no list.

Pg 133-1363. I think McDonald’s commits and ethical wrong by advertising toys in happy meals just because

back in the day the toys were cool. When there are screaming children wanting a kid’s meal a parent is going to give it to them regardless on how unhealthy the meal is. As a business perspective it is genius to advertise to the children because they are going to sell their product to the kids and the kids are going to scream for them. I don’t think that there should be a legal restrain on McDonalds use of toys to encourage the consumption of unhealthy food. That should bet the parent’s fault and the parents are the one that should put their food down.

2. The consumers for BP should be responsible to boycott BP gas stations. They obviously have a history of oil spills and they need to get their act together. They are not going to get their act together until someone boycotts them and raises their attention to the problem. . No, I have never boycotted a product before. I can think of situations where people feel like their voices need to be heard and they need to change a product or raise attention to an issue.

18. Outsourcing is good for American businesses because they are saving expenses and increasing revenue but they are bad for American employment rates. I am conficnet that I will be competitive in the American market of the future where outsourcing seems destined to strip away big pieces of the job market because I will be I will be a lawyer and I will defend big companies. I need to have all the legal stuff in order.
