Parent/Carer Information Tomorrow’s World Mrs Metcalfe, Miss McMaster & Miss Ramshaw Year 5 Homework Project As part of the topic Tomorrow’s World, children in Y5/6 will be learning about many aspects about the technological world we live in and the advances that are being made. For their homework project this term, we would like the children to create a spy gadget. The children can design this or create a prototype. They should think about how the gadget would help a spy and how it would work.

Homework Project

As part of the topic Tomorrow’s World, children in Y5/6 will be learning about many aspects about the technological world we live in and the advances that are being made.

Art Children will be learning the technique

of shading with sketching pencils and blending with colours.

Researching a range of brand logos and evaluating them based on the colours and shading used.

Designing and creating their own logo using the shading and blending techniques.

Computing Children will be learning how to

research effectively.

How to stay safe online and use technology responsibly and respectfully.

Understand how computer networks including the internet provide services and opportunities for communication and collaboration.

Select and combine a variety of software to produce digital designs and programmes.

Music Guitar lessons.

Physical Education

Gymnastics

Things to remember: PE Monday and Tuesday – PE kit to be kept

in school all week (outdoor kit will be required)

Guitars- Wednesday Learn multiplication and division facts. Spellings - sent home on Friday to be learnt

for test on the following Friday Please listen to your child read 3 times per

week. Reading records back on Friday please.
