This piston kit was designed and developed for a specific motorcycle model and should only be installed onto therecommended model in its original condition.

After this product has been installed you should take a low speed test ride to check stability of the vehicle has been maintained.

This product needs specialised tools to fit correctly and should only be fitted by a K-Tech dealer or a person with the correct tools and trained in the art to install the front forkpiston kits to ensure the performance of this product.

Remove the front forks from the motorcycle using the manufacturers workshop manual.

When Fitting the kit, fit only one leg at a time to avoid confusion. Always fit the compression cartridge into the left hand leg and the rebound into the right.

Remove the top cap from the outer tube using a 36mm spanner.

Remove the top cap cover and unscrew the top cap cap from thepiston rod using a 6mm alley key and a 36mm spanner.

Remove bump stop, washer and the C-clip from the piston rod.

Empty out the oil from the tube.

NBKeep these parts safe as they will need to be re-fitted later on.

Remove the tubes from the foot by unscrewing the inner tube using a split 31mm clamp and tool no. 113-200-000

Some oil will come out when doing this procedure so make sure you have a suitable container underneath.

This is LEFT HAND THREAD!!!!!!!!!!! make sure you unscrew it the correct way.Heat up the foot before unscrewing to melt the loctite.

Unscrew the hex from the bottom ofthe inner tube using a 14mm hex drive. The spring is preloaded inside the inner tube so take care when unscrewing.

Remove the steel washer and the spring from the inner tube.

Push the cartridge through and remove from the inner tube. then clean all your parts to remove anyold oil or dirt.

This is LEFT HAND THREAD!!!!!!!!!!! make sure you unscrew it the correct way.Heat up the foot before unscrewing to melt the loctite.

Fit the standard top out spring onto the k-tech piston rod.

Make sure you know which K-Tech piston rod is compression and rebound once you have removed the top caps.

Insert the piston rod into the inner tube. Be careful when sliding the piston band over the internal thread.

NBIt is advised to use K-Tech springs as these are a smaller diameter and give a smoother action to the fork.

Install the spring into the inner tube along with the nylon spacer and the standard steel washer.

Install the standard base valve and screw into the inner tube and torque to 30Nm using a 14mm hex drive.

NBApply grease to the o-ring on the base valve.

Install the tubes back into the foot using the 31mm split clamp and tool no. 113-200-000.

Pour in 215cc of 5wt oil into the fork. You may need to pump the fork up and down whilst doing this to allow the oil to settle.

Make sure the O-ring is on the bottom of the base valve.

apply loctite 2701 to the thread of the inner tube.

Remember this is a Left Hand Thread.

K-Tech recommend Factory Line 5wt.

install the standard C-clip , washer and bump stop onto the piston rod.

Install the top cap onto the piston rod and torque to 10Nm using a 14mm socket and tool no. KT03-116A

Screw the outer tube onto the topand tighten.

NBApply grease to the o-ring on the top cap.

Set the adjusters in the centre of the top cap using a 3mm allen key.

NBAll adjustment range should be made from the fully in position.

Set the compression and rebound damping according to the setting data in this manual.

Reinstall the fork onto the motorcycle in accordance with the manufacturers workshop manual.
