2011 HONDURAS/ EL SALVADOR V2H Mission trips like these change your life. I don’t mean the kind of short-lived change that many experience after a week of summer camp. (Summer camp is great btw! I used to work at one of the best in the country: Teen Valley Ranch). But these kind of trips change you radically and permanently as you are faced with the aches and pains of nations and countries of impoverished children who have no one to listen to their cries, hold them when they are hurting nor feed their stomachs when they are hungry. Seeing these kind of things first-hand always leaves and indelible mark on your heart and your soul. The memories and the connection goes beyond words. You have to experience it to fully understand what I am talking about. I have held babies in my arms that have been abandoned; some who perhaps may only get held once-a day. These same babies may only get one diaper change a day! Some of the babies and children I’ve seen may not even be alive now! Pure and True Religion PICTURES FROM THE STATE ORPHANAGE IN HONDURAS. Mission trips like these change your life. I don’t mean the kind of short-lived change that many experience after a week of summer camp. (Summer camp is great btw! I used to work at one of the best in the country: Teen Valley Ranch). But these kind of trips change you radically and permanently as you are faced with the aches

and pains of nations and countries of impoverished children who have no one to listen to their cries, hold them when they are hurting nor feed their stomachs when they are hungry. Seeing these kind of things first-hand always leaves and indelible mark on your heart and your soul. The memories and the connection goes beyond words. You

have to experience it to fully understand what I am talking about. I have held babies in my arms that have been abandoned; some who perhaps may only get held once-a day. These same babies may only get one diaper change a day! Some of the babies and children I’ve seen may not even be alive now!

A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO, WE TOOK A TEAM TO HONDURAS. THESE ARE SOME OF THE PICTURES FROM THAT TRIP.

WE ARE TAKING ANOTHER TEAM TO SHARE AND MINISTER AND SERVE ON JUNE 9TH. THERE WILL BE 16 OF US FROM FL, GA, AL, AND TN WHO ARE WILLING TO LOVE, HUG, HOLD, FEED, LISTEN AND BE JESUS FOR THESE ORPHANS. WILL YOU HELP US PRACTICE PURE AND TRUE RELIGION?

After leaving Honduras on June 14th, we will travel to El Salvador to work with our WAVE Team in establishing a

skateboard ministry and working among the deaf for two weeks.

Our work in El Salvador is to build several ramps to launch a skateboard

outreach ministry on June 21. These ramps will also serve the local Christian school and be used as a pilot program

for physical education using skateboarding.

We will also perform in several local

schools and visit a few orphanages in El Salvador. Our sign team will work closely with our sister team in mentoring and cultural exchange among

the deaf and spanish church and WAVE Team.

We will use our time to invest in

building and strengthening our relationship with our friends and reaching out to those who are not yet followers of Christ.

The cost of these two trips is going to run us about $1400 each. Here is the break down of costs:

MOBIL SUMMER 2011

This summer in El Salvador we will launch our skateboarding ministry. We intend to build several mobil ramps for the use of the school and church in reaching a new and different youth culture.

Here’s why we are doing this:

Each month 500,000 Skate Board Decks and 100,000 wheels are manufactured. One in 10 teenagers owns a skateboard

Action Sports Foundations Reports:

- Skate Boarding is the third largest sport between the ages of 6-18. In 2001nearly 21 million people participated in action sports other than baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, tennis, football.

- During the last 10 years, no sport had a larger increase in participation among users age 7 and older-106%. Skateboarding is the sixth largest participant sport in the United States

- More than 9.3 million skateboarders will take to the streets in the U.S. this year.

According to the US. Consumer Product Safety Commission skateboarders are less likely to require emergency medical care than participants of more traditional sports such as basketball, baseball, football, soccer & volleyball. Source: BMX on line

Skateboarding is a 3 Billion dollar a year industry. Skate parks are the #1 choice of teenagers when polled by Parks & Recreation departments.

What is the average skateboarder like?

- Most skateboarders are between 7-16 years old.

- The average age of a skateboarder is 14.

- Art & Music are the favorite subjects in school for the average skateboarder.

Statistics

1. In 2007 there were over 13 million skateboarders in the U.S. 93.7% are younger than 24. When one considers that there are about 80 million people in the United States between the ages of 5 and 24, it suggests that 1 out of every 7 youth in the nation, or 12,997,000, are skateboarders.

2. In any given community, roughly 4.6% will be casual skateboarders and half of those will be weekly skaters

If all of this is true and countries like El Salvador follow closely to what happens in the USA, then we have a great opportunity to minister and reach a generation that is not being reached this way in El Salvador. Your investment will change their future! Project cost for 20 skateboards, 20 sets of pads, 20 helmets and 10 ramps: $3000. Please donate to help us skate for Christ.

ALSO THIS SUMMER

Every person has wanted to be a “star” at some point. Whether it’s singing or acting, everyone has had the dream of

being on the screen or stage sharing their talent with the world.

The Bible calls us to be “stars”, people who live out our lives for others to see

our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

This summer that is what we want to

help children who attend George Camp understand they can do: shine for Jesus!

Shortly after our return from Honduras and El Salvador we will stay “Mobil” and head to Miami to host our 9th year of

camp! We are very excited about our partnership with Wayside Baptist Church and the way we will be able to reach more children for the Kingdom of

God!

We will have several volunteers and missionaries helping out. Thank God for

people who love to serve Him! Please keep us in your prayers as we host two weeks of camp from July 9-24.
