MEDIA RELEASE Wednesday, 13 March 2019 – For Immedieate Release HOPE ISLAND COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER TO HELP TOWNSVILLE FLOOD VICTIMS On Saturday, 23 February 2019 Hope Island Shopping Centre hosted a Community Fun Day to raise much needed funds for individuals and communities recently impacted by the flood crisis in Townsville and Northern Queensland. Locals were invited to enjoy fun for the whole family including a petting zoo, face painting, kids’ activities, special offers and the chance to share in over $2,500 worth of prizes, all for gold coin donations to the Flood Appeal! Hope Island Shopping Centre would like to thank the local community for their generosity and the Lions Club of Sanctuary Cove Hope Island, for their support in raising funds at this event. The final count of donations collected on the day was $1,497 with Lions Club members donating a further $503 to round up the donation total to $2,000. Dave Cane, Treasurer of the Lions Club Sanctuary Cove Hope Island said that “the best part is that 100% of all donations received will be distributed to those in need!”. Hope Island Shopping Centre is located at 10 Santa Barbara Road, Hope Island. On Saturday, 23 February 2019 Hope Island Shopping Centre hosted a Community Fun Day to raise much needed funds for individuals and communities recently impacted by the flood crisis in Townsville and Northern Queensland.
