What is a Giving Tree? A giving tree is an opportunity for community members to help nearly 7,000 local children who receive gifts through Hopelink’s Giving Rooms. Host- ing a holiday giving tree at your business or office to collect these gifts is a simple, creative, and tangible way to help out families in need in your community. Hopelink can provide hang-able gift tags and suggested items for different age groups, or you can create your own tags. You can display the tags as ornaments on your giving tree in a common space, or do something new and creative with them that inspires the holiday spirit. Gift Donation Guidelines In-kind donations of toys are tax-deductible. For ease in the receipting process we ask that you consider the following:

• If you provide a purchase receipt/s that amount will be indicated on your charitable contribution receipt.

• Only one charitable contribution receipt will be provided for a collection that took place at an office or business.

• If you would like separate charitable contribution receipts for all who participated in the toy drive you will need to provide each person’s name and mailing address, as well as a description of what they donated.

• If your drive is large you would like your charitable contribution receipt to reflect a final count and/or an itemized list of the gifts donated we ask that you prepare this before dropping off the gifts at our centers. and provide it with your delivery.
